A diverse, all-star cast joins DeVito in the "Right to Know" PSA, including Bill Maher, Dave Matthews, Jillian Michaels, Emily Deschanel, John Cho, Glenn Howerton, Kaitlin Olson, KaDee Strickland and Kristin Bauer van Straten.

This actually pisses me off ! Hear me out….

They're using these celebrities to popularize an idea….
The idea is that, if GMO's are safe… then why can't you label them !

Russia bans ALL GM corn imports after seeing recent studies…
Peru has a 10 year ban on GMOs
Germany has banned the cultivation or sale of GMO corn…
Switzerland has a ban on all GMO crops…
no GMO's are grown in new zealand…

And the bright americans are going to be proud of voting on having that shit labeled ? ? ?

Do you know what those labels will look like…. they will probably be brightly colored with smilie faces, hearts, and stars!

Thanks team hollywood, for sending in your cultural icons to persuade public opinion in a way that still benefits monsanto! Please... let's keep GMO's on the shelf, cause I want the "right" to consume !!

Talk about desensitization! What will be next… making weather men or women announce what days weather modification will be underway ? ?

Today will be hazy with gusts of aluminum, and there'll be a light chance of nano particulates followed by fluctuating barium levels into the evening…..

*sighs…. sorry for my lack of optimism on this. Bored

Great observation April, they didn't blow that one by you.

A ban would be nice but... You know how it goes. If GMOs were labeled, people could decide not to buy that shit. Then companies loosing profits would go GMO free. In a perfect world. We know it ain't that easy!

And that is exactly why Monsanto and other global corporations are attempting to block mandatory GMO labeling. Since they are untested on humans and rat testing shows unreal tumor growth, they know what it does but don't want the public to know or have a say in the matter. You can't have the serfs and servants actually have a say in what their masters try to feed them on the global plantation. Not and have effective control and depopulation, that is.

RE: New Prop 37 ad
In my former jobs I was:

- Manager of the environmental certification for the Canadian government called Environmental Choice (Eco-Logo),

- Associate for the sustainable forestry certification of Rainforest Alliance called Forest Stewardship Council (FSC),

- ISO 14012 Environmental Auditor and Certification assistant for the forestry certification program of the Government of Quebec.

My function was to write environmental standards, maintain and audit companies seeking certification and the right to use eco-labels.

And do you know why I quit all four jobs mentioned above (even if they were well paid prestigious functions)? Because, in every single case the process was corrupt, the standards were written and implemented with many loopholes, and as such, the eco-labels were awarded to almost every corporation that seeked product certification.

I was ask to lie, modify standard without public consultation, overlook non-compliance to the standard, certify the corporations with promise that they will change within 1 yrs, etc.

You see, people don't know what LABELS represent; the standard behind the label, the auditing process, and management of standard (amendment, interpretations, versions, etc.). Labels MAKE PEOPLE FEEL SAFE about an issue, but if they took the time to read the standard and learn about the certification process they would be disgusted. Just like I was when I quit my jobs. It's called having personal integrity, something that governments or certification bodies (companies that get paid good money to manage the labeling procedures) don't have.

But you know that, Right? Do you trust your government? Why would you trust a government eco-label?

Take the ORGANIC food certification label. How many of you have downloaded the standard to see what types of food are awarded the right to use the label? Well, I did and, again, I was disgusted. There is an appendix with hundred of chemical products that are allowed to be used as fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, etc, and it's growing as the chemical industry lobbyists and scientists provide proof to the government that their new chemicals should not be classified as non-synthetic (i.e. allowed in the Organic standard).

No folks the world of labeling is not pretty. And there is NO REASON to believe that labeling GMOs would assure us that food products are safe and don't contain GMOs.

And to nail my point down, they have managed to insert genes in peach tree (i.e. genetically modified trees) so that the genes are turned on in the fruiting process by spraying a chemical, and then turned off when the chemical dissipates. Now because the gene turns off, they can claim that the fruits are NOT GMO. Did you get all that? What this means is that what is GMO and what is not, is simply a question of definition that is capable of deceiving the consumers that have faith in labels.

So, the real issue is not should we label or not, but how can we prevent corruption of the labeling process. And folks WE CAN'T !!!

But what can we do? Grow you own friggen food, or get in touch with the farmers in your area and visit the farm. See if they are part of a CSA (community supported agriculture) program and get you ass on the membership list. Get food from someone you know and trust, don't rely on the government or labels!
