[split] Server Bandwidth Overage Charges

RE: [split] Server Bandwidth Overage Charges
Just a reminder: Buddy guy, Epinnoia, cannot read any of the posts in support of ConCen - or any of this - because he is banned, remember? Please don't rely on people emailing him to talk about this issue, and to remind him of the larger community and necessity of this avenue of information sharing and networking.

In fact, why don't you just unban him - give him what he wants - and end this whole stand-off? Don't worry, it won't make you look weak, I promise...

Not true. Anyone with an internet connection and a browser can read the forum.

While I agree the chances are very small that the creep might actually care about the community he claims to be helping, I think it's worth a try considering the SOB could be responsible for this site going down within weeks, don't you think?

I'm shocked that you would suggest giving in to a person who has already done massive damage to this site - more than anyone else in the entire history of ConCen.

Sounds like a lot of hot air- Does any of what he says have any teeth? Or is it all bark no bite?
Because I dont see why anyone is just going to shut down the site on the word of one person.

He already got PayPal shut down. We'll see if he succeeds in getting the VPS people to pull the plug.

Is there any use to preempt this by reaching out to them 1st? We arent doing anything wrong so we should be able to explain the situation, maybe worth it. What do you think?

I though that maybe we could do that, or worst case scenario disable the tracker for a while, giving the VPS company no reason to shut us down.

That's the last gasp effort plan, but when would we pull the switch, for how long? The host would probably want to distance themselves from any drama - Any plan on making ConCen easily portable, a nomadic community.

I'm starting to relate to how the Gypsies felt in WWII Germany, if only a little bit.

Epinnoia deserved to get banned. His emails further prove that. I suggest backing up the server, files and data if possible. If Epinnoia's plan of shutting down the site doesn't work, he still has done enough damage with all this drama. Here we are as a communtiy divided. It's hard to get so many people together that all know what's going on. Yet, it's easy to destroy and split a group.

If this site does close down, it proabably happen one day, my feeling is sooner than later, I'll look on the bright side. I've learned so much because all of the good material that has been uploaded. This site has helped me grow as a person, increased my knowledge, and find truth. I hope everyone here can relate. And pray for the best future for everyone on this site.

We sought, we learned, we won't forget.

Here's a toast to everyone here on this site:
For all the people that cared for the truth. For everyone that wants to see justice served. And for those that care about freedom and want a better world. We are those people. Regardless of what happens, we made an impact by making a difference in the world, by letting truth be known.

God Bless

Well we'll always have our IRC channel and, for now, we'll have our Facebook page. Keep in touch with those you treasure. A forum is really easy to move around, a tracker.. not so much.

Get the phone numbers, emails and skype addresses of those you want to keep in contact with like any real community would.

Why is that? and hey we've lasted this long don't count us out just yet.

I kind of agree with FT that temporarily shutting it down is a last resort kind of thing.
I think if we can find out who over there would even look at this guys complaints and reach out to them 1st and explain the whole thing would benefit us more so than not reaching out and them just assuming he is portraying everything accurately and unjustly terminating the site.
If they know that there are erroneous claims being put out about the site they might not be so quick to pull the trigger based on what he's complaining about.
Paypal is a different type of service so i can see them being more sensitive and not wanting to take any risks- so them cancelling us is really no big surprise tbh, but I dont think the other guys will shut us down if they can realize the truth of the situation. Just my 2 cents.

worst case scenario is a temporary shutdown; with the magic of email, we could still share files with each other. things may slow down for a while, but there is a certain elan to the "reply to all" feature. it's indeed unfortunate that one douchebag with a hair across his ass could ruin such a good thing as concen.

eppionoia has a chip on his shoulder...it comes from the wood higher up...

maybe the jagoff should just go away.

yeti, you have done well and you are appreciated for all your efforts, past and present... don't let the turkeys get you down.

It's the same fucking thread as before!! I should drop in more often Wink

Max Keiser supports BITCOIN - I only had a quick look into it as part of my examination of the "Silk Road" side of the whirrled...

Use that if you can and I have yet to see any reason the site could be taken down. Hosts get a bad name vast these days for censorship.

Inb4 end of an era.

Just like to say i've outlasted every idiot "mod" who has given me the ridiculous forum warnings which is the reason I don't post. And a big fuck off to HHQ as well.

Happy trails one and all.

I had a look at your warnings and noticed that they were both issued by now2012 who not only was never a mod, but was a PITA who was banned for writing one too many posts like this. He must have created those warnings during a time that the forum was misconfigured to allow anyone to issue a warning.

I should issue an apology for your troubles, but instead I'll just give you a token Love005

Feel free to post at will, safe and secure in the knowledge that you can only be warned by mods (and that I personally don't bother with warnings, I save time by just permanently banning you).

He hasn't been around for many years, but I do remember him having a very short fuse.
