Invisible world - how to gain access to it safely

"I have told you so often to be wary of those books on occult science that pretend to open the way to the invisible world but will only lead you dangerously astray. If you ever want to be able to leave your body and astral travel, so as to discover the splendours of the spiritual world, here is an exercise that is completely safe.

For example, on those mornings when a grey, misty sky makes you feel drowsy, instead of trying to concentrate and meditate – which is pointless, as the conditions aren’t right, and you won’t succeed – try to stop thinking. Allow your soul to expand into space, and imagine it is rejoining the universal Soul and fusing with it: it will bring back with it images of the regions it has been contemplating. But be under no illusion: the quality of what you see depends on you, on the nature and quality of your desires, your feelings and your thoughts. So, if you want to truly connect with the realities of the spiritual world, begin by purifying your inner world. "

I can personally attest that meditation is not pointless in any regard whatsoever. I recommend it, even in sessions as short as 5 to 10 minutes. Expect results in about a week.

The Aivanhov quote above seems to suggest "remote viewing" as an alternative to the "dangerous" astral travel. In my youth, I was playing with Shamanic journeying to venture not only within this realm, but within others.

Reality is what we make of it - more so than we sometimes realise.

peragrate: Many sources I've happened across state that 5 minute meditation sessions, three times per day, is enough to unlock a number of capabilities we're supposed to have access to. It's an effective enough tool for life in general.

Absolutely! I haven't lately, but I've noticed a significant difference in the impact that the external world has on me with as little as a few minutes! I remember when I was under a lot of stress and I remembered meditation. That firs session was very difficult and it lasted a whole of 2 to 3 minutes. It changed my entire day for the better. The stress just melted away.

I want to encourage the original poster. When I was younger and I first watched the movie Dune, there was a line in the script that stuck with me like glue. The line was, "I will not fear for fear is the mind killer." Or something just like that. I remembered that when life started getting difficult and I conquered fear (to a great extent) within myself by refusing to give in to fear. In fact, I deny it and sometimes do what I am afraid of just to take one more step toward self-mastery.

So don't be afraid. You won't let yourself die until it's time to die. :-)

Also keep in mind that emotions can be a key to unlocking our potential in that they act as "status reports" as to the state of one's unconscious mind. The emotion resulting from the automatic reaction to situations, whether negative like fear, anger, resentment or jealousy, or positive like love, trust or joy, tells one much about their psychological bearing.

Psychology and spirituality are intertwined in ways that even the oldest gurus are still exploring. If one fears something, that's the time for some solid analysis of that which is feared, and of the self.

I must not fear.
Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear.
I will permit it to pass over me and through me.
And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
Where the fear has gone there will be nothing.
Only I will remain.

I find the movie Insidious to be nothing more than a way to scare an entire generation away from anything spiritual, and to frighten those who are born with naturally operant "paranormal" abilities.
It seems entirely too difficult for most "Astral Nasties" to get into your skinsuit and walk around, you pretty much have to drag them into you with your desires.
Again... you are the key to your own possession. They can sometimes force you into accepting them, usually by driving fear to a high level and convincing you that "it is gonna happen... and theres nothing you can do about it?".
As for meditation, its seems the best way to wash the emotional grit from your soul, and typically astral nasties are frightened by such "clean" beings.

(As Above, So Below) ---> Wash yer drawers or get fungus!

I agree with Solve et Coagula that there should be caution, and I do appreciate the kind concern. Typically avoiding books written by people named Lady Raven McNyteByrd is a good way to avoid formulas and meditations that are weakly premised and carelessly written to make a fast buck. If there is a ton of love spells in the book... walk away.

One last thing, egregores as watchers/guardians? Something to go "ROOFROOFROOFROOF!" at the Flotsam and Jetsam?
"Be seeing you!"

I agree meditation is great and useful, for me it often feels like the groundwork for everything else that happens/is to come. I am curious about where meditation can take me, however recently 2 or 3 times ive woken up, absolutely wide awake, in a state where things just feel off balance...more information was coming through my filters on reality than normal however i did not need to isolate myself from that reality by closing my eyes, going into meditation and blocking out worldly distractions...I'ts all interconnected and i'm confident there's a way to immerse oneself in this physical level of reality while having access to raw information about this reality from other dimensions...not remote viewing, bringing images from somewhere that is not here, but instantly knowing more about the nature of all things around you.

I wish i hadn't gone back to sleep now but i think there was a connection to the knower or something on a similar level, there was a time rift between the knowing something was going to happen then thinking and acting it out. Also static energy to everything...that's all i can remember in terms of describing things but yeah... cool stuff!

Hi Valve, great to hear you're getting somewhere. My experience with meditation is that it's cumulative. The inner stillness it develops seems to stay with me. No more leaf in the wind, or at least, I've become a leaf attached to a tree!

Just recently I've been focusing on the inside world and exploring it. I can report that when I looked to my centre I saw a literal golden sun shinning from my inside. The main difference I notice is that I am not easily influenced any more, and I don't jump in my skin at the slightest exterior abrasion.

In fact, if you want to start a web site endorsing meditation through confessions of personal experience, I'd be into it. I've met people before, and I know energy is being used to disrupt their life, but it's hard to explain to a person that something as innocent as 5 minutes of meditation a day can change all of that.

I Imagine there must be some sites already out there like that, they seem to specialize by practice though. Yeah I'm fairly new ecstatic about the whole thing. I've had some cool experiences, but they never quite translate into words, it's like discovering a new language. Let me know what material you find your inspiration in, maybe if there's anything specific in the trackers here, i'd be interested to check it out! Cheers.

I would certainly be interested as well. I think my biggest hurdle is the basic self-discipline required to stay persistent and consistent. I so easily fall back into a pattern of indulging in my 'lesser' occupations and falling out of the loop. I suppose it will always be a work in progress for just about anyone though... I think a relatively reputable/structured set of techniques would help me in staying on top of things so it's nice to have some feedback from experienced practitioners. In any case, best wishes.

Hey stenzela, might I recommend the Higher Balance institute foundation set? There are public torrents out there of the collection, I'd be interested to see hear some new perspectives on it as none of my friends are really into anything spiritual.

The lectures behind the techniques are pretty engaging and motivating and i connect to them differently every time i listen to them, i dabble elsewhere but this is the core of what i do so far, let me know what you think...If you've got the time for it lol. Cheers.

Thanks kindly, Valve. I haven't hear of Higher Balance but will certainly look into it. I appreciate the heads up.
