If the people want the person and vote for him, that's elected rrepresentation no?

Unlimited terms with a max of 2 consecutive terms would be fair i think?

I don't have a problem with the idea that you just suggested, but -
it doesn't say anything about unlimited terms with a max of 2 consecutive terms - just unlimited terms. (unless I'm am overlooking a line)

even if we dismiss the fact that elections can be rigged, - we don't even get a chance to vote for a person whom we would really like to represent us.

I don't believe that the majority of americans wanted McCain or Obama, - any person that we may want doesn't make it to the end.
Far too many people are willing to only vote within the 2 party system believing that any other vote is a wasted vote, they will literally blame you that your wasted vote helped an opposing party to win.

If we are to change how many terms a person can hold in government it should be to set limits on how long one can be in the house or senate.
The idea that peeps like Kennedy and Byrd have life long memberships is ridiculous imo.
at any rate, none of them (or very very few) have our best interest at heart, be it president, congressman or senator.
