More than 12,000 young people from all over the UK and Europe are expected to attend a ‘Peace for Humanity’ conference in London.

The event is being organised by Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI), an Islamic organisation working for peace and integration and will take place at Wembley Arena.

The conference will be opened by MQI’s founder, Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, a leading Islamic scholar and thinker.

He will use the conference to issue a "Declaration for Global Peace and Resistance against Extremism" which will call for end to terrorism and extremist violence. He will launch a drive to secure one million signatures to support the declaration.

The “Peace and Humanity” conference will host a full day of speeches, entertainment, multi-faith sessions and collective public action to spread messages of peace, harmony and cohesion throughout communities and across religions following the tenth anniversary of 9/11.

It will also include a collective peace prayer involving all main faiths 10 years after that called by the late Pope John Paul in Assisi.

Video messages of support will be shown from the Deputy Prime Minister, Rt Hon. Nick Clegg, the Secretary of State for Local Government and Communities, Rt Hon. Eric Pickles and the Leader of the Opposition, Rt Hon. Ed Miliband.

The Mayor of London Boris Johnson has also supported the conference. Ban Ki-moon has also sent a message of support.

The conference will also hear from Deputy Mayor of London Richard Barnes, Dean of Royal Air Force College Dr Joel Hayward, Sajjad Karim MEP, UK Muslim scholars Shaykh Abdal Hakim Murad (also known as Timothy Winter) and Vice-Chancellor of Al-Azhar University, Cairo, prominent young scholar Shaykh Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Mrs Ghazala Hassan, Dr Musharaf Hussain.

A special session of collective peace prayer will be held in which religious leaders of Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jews, Christians and Muslims will perform prayer for global peace according to their respective religion.

Building on previous internationally recognised Minhaj-ul-Quran events, including the Fatwa on Terrorism and the Anti-Terrorism Camp, this event will bring together eminent faith leaders and communities, dispelling myths and enhancing unity in the name of peace.

In his Global Declaration for Peace, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri will say: “We send a message of peace and fraternity to all of humanity’s innumerable states, nations, communities and individuals along with a call for respect, dignity, compassion, equality, solidarity and justice for, and between, all people".

“We address our call for peace, tolerance and respect to all people everywhere, but especially to political and religious leaders and decision-makers as well as to scholars, teachers and journalists".

“We reject unequivocally all terrorism because at the heart of all religions is a belief in the sanctity of the lives of the innocent.

The indiscriminate nature of terrorism, which has in recent years killed far more civilians and other non-combatants than it has combatants.”

Quote:12,000 UK Muslims to attend peace rally

Another psychological manipulation of the naive and ever stupid muslim masses.

That's just another occasion to deeply embed into the stupid subconsciousness of the muslims (and non-muslims), that, indeed, what is wrong with the world today, is that tiny minority of extremely stupid muslims who think that they have the duty to kill every sinner.

That's a very convenient way to steer the attention away from the bomb dropping NATO, the banking elite pulling the rug under everybody's feet as we speak, the police state and surveillance societies taking shape everywhere, the chemical weapons used against iraqis and palestinians, the bombing of cities in libya where anti-NATO protests took place, the constant and relentless tightening of the noose around the neck of the working class all over the globe,...etc.

That's also another golden opportunity to drain the energy of the muslim youth, by inciting them to invest their time and efforts into sterile activities. They might as well cut their testicules off.

The leaders of those so-called "muslim organizations" are cowards, hypocrites and a danger to the world for they are striving to give an aura of legitimacy to the devastating actions of the mudering elite. May Allah (swt) deal with them on judgement day as harshly as possible.

The picture below would have been a lot funnier if that boy was also holding a sign that reads : "I CONVERTED TO ISLAM"

EDL is closer to JDL than Muslims. Perhaps someone should start with MDL, Muslim Defense League. Just for fun. Smile

Does the JDL have any non-Jewish members? I don't think the EDL and JDL are similar in any way shape or form. The JDL are organised for one. And haven't you heard, the English Defence League have a Muslim member...from Scotland LOL

It's not about public image, it's about who helps them. Basically they are on the same side. You will see more support and more groups like that. With economy failing this will come naturally, people will demand solutions and history will repeat.

So far from the truth it's nuts. The EDL are all about public image, else they wouldn't get so offended with BNP links, if it's just about who helps them.

Like I said, nothing like the JDL.

I do keep giving specific examples, maybe you could provide one or two to show what you mean.

FYI.. This organization & its founder belong to Sufi sects/methods (Mystics), and they do not represent mainstream Islam which many know nothing about but ridicule.

EDL has various supporters in the background who are not that much different from JDL types. I was talking about agenda and support, not the public image and people who think demonstrating against immigration will somehow resolve the problem. Organizations like that will be used to create more chaos across the EU and America, so public will demand some order later. Btw, EDL are not "Nazi", although they have some people inside who are, but they are not running things.

I am yet to see any evidence that the EDL are in any way like the JDL, or that any of the supporters are "not that much different from JDL types", but maybe your right. Maybe there's evidence of this somewhere...but until then.

I don't think anyone suggested they are as such. I know a lot of people at the protests call them such things, not knowing much about the National Socialist Party (Nazi Party), but no one has even insinuated it in this thread.

Of course the EDL are in solidarity with the JDL - it isn't exactly hidden - and who exactly do you think it is that is waving the Israeli flags on EDL demos?
