Are There Ways to Remove Fluoride?

RE: Are There Ways to Remove Fluoride?
mica? mica's a pretty common rock, last I heard, and it has no chelating activity... last I knew the only thing that could bind to and carry heavy metals from one's body in any significant quantity were chelating agents, and therapies using them must be closely supervised and supplemented due to their tendency to remove essential nutriets, etc.

somebody other than supplement companies found on major pharmacy and supermarket shelves are getting people to swallow high-priced rocks? PT Barnum would be proud...

There is a debate about Clarity. The supplier refutes the charges made by Adams and it does smell suspicious. For chelation, no way though. I just used a few drops to add to distiller water fir remineralization. Chlorella and corriander appear to have mild chelating properties but just use the Gerson therapy as it will help iliminate all toxins from the body including heavy metals.

I did a bit of research into Truth Publishing Inc (Natural News / Mike Adams) and they're sketchy as hell too.

Natural News .. Genuine Health News, Shillery Profiteers and/or Clever Chinese Propaganda?
http://concen.org/forum/showthread.php?tid=34183

I wouldn't dismiss their news/claims outright but I'd certainly look to other sources to make a definitive call on their claims.

As for Adya Clarity they haven't returned my emails yet. Their pitch included stuff that went far beyond their claims such as mentioning radioactive fallout and chemtrails which had little to do with what the product filtered. The least you can buy something for on their website is a one week dose for $25 USD for 2oz of their wonder tonic elixir.

It consists of the following Ingredients ...

Iron
Magnesium
Calcium
Manganese
Phosphorus
Sodium
Potassium
Zinc
Additionally contains up to 100 trace minerals including aluminum, barium, cobalt, copper, germanium, lithium, molybdenum, nickel, rubidium, selenium, silicon, silver, titanium, tungsten, vanadium.

Are those not some of the elements they claim to remove. Sketchy IMO.

I've always been sketched out by multiple trace/colloidal mineral formulas... there was a conversation here once about consuming gold, or at least a certain kind of gold, and I always though it was odd that it was available for consumption in the first place... Supplement store pharmacy and supermarket (and yes, dollar and discount stores too!!,) shelves are full of snake oil, and my best advice for those unwilling to take the significant amount of time necessary to educate themselves on how to properly consume nutrients necessary to keep them healthy or correct certain medical issues, find and ask a doc for guidance. One whose office isn't plastered with items emblazoned with pharmaceutical logos and isn't just willing to listen to you when you ask about alternative therapies, but also one who doesn't just say "well it couldn't hurt..." or "if it makes you feel better, keep taking it..." but one willing to discus the actual studied pros and cons. Most MD's are required to take less than 12 credit hours based in nutrition during their ENTIRE TIME IN SCHOOL... that's both undergrad and med, and then some...

That being said, the DR (Carly - I'm not going to rewrite the url,) mentioned above has a very, (at the least,) entertaining site, and posits some serious issues relating to vaccination and challenges the staff at Pediatrics magazine to refute them with a 10k reward offered... they said they'd respond in 3 days (i.e., by June 16, 2006,) but haven't responded yet...

I'm sure there are plenty of loonies and crackpots (and agent provocateurs?,) that sing her praises, (and distort her research,) giving her a bad name, but most of what I read there seemed credible...

I have to point out that I haven't yet found her Hippocrates protocols, which is disturbing in relation to her seemingly important info on the site, but I wanted to make sure that she isn't necessarily lumped in with the other snake-oil salesmen who have questionable or a proven LACK of credibility in this thread...

Good posts FT and H3rm35. I think anyone looking for some sort of miracle supplement in this area will be sadly disappointed to realise they are certainly nothing more than a collection of various minerals and you can obtain all important nutrients from juicing of homegrown or organic vegetables and fruits. Not sure of gold colloids but I can tell you colloidal silver is an incredible thing!
And for anyone wishing to mention it, only idiots get argyria.

RE: Are There Ways to Remove Fluoride?
IMO, colloidal silver should be treated with the same respect as high potentcy antibiotics, at least in formulas with therapeutic concentrations (over 100ppm). It can very easily destroy the important ratios of friendly bacteria in your intestines and and will also destroy your immunity if taken as a tonic or panacea, leaving you open to infection and abscesses that are antibiotic-resistant. This is not pleasant. just got done dealing with fighting off antibiotic resistant infection (though not due to silver.) it was horribly painful and landed me in the hospital for over two weeks while I dropped damn near 30 lbs. Be careful with dietary supplements, and inform yourself.

For anyone with diabetes, I came across an interesting article which stated that diabetics excrete more
chromium than other people.

When supplementation has been given to SOME diabetics, the condition disappeared.

Type II diabetes, insulin resistance, is 100% curable through diet. The other type, which is an autoimmune disease which is becoming more prevalent due to vaccines imo.

Quote:How to Remove Fluoride from Drinking Water
Preventing Fluorosis
By Anne Marie Helmenstine, Ph.D., About.com Guides

It's possible to remove fluoride from drinking water, but not every type of water filter will work.

Most people are aware that there is a controversy surrounding public fluoridation of drinking water. Here is a list of ways to obtain drinking water without fluoride. In addition, I've listed water purification methods which do not remove fluoride from water.

Ways to Remove Fluoride from Water

Reverse Osmosis Filtration

This is used to purify several types of bottled water (not all), so some bottled waters are unfluoridated. Reverse osmosis systems are generally unaffordable for personal use.

Activated Alumina Defluoridation Filter

These filters are used in locales where fluorosis is prevalent. They are relatively expensive (lowest price I saw was $30/filter) and require frequent replacement, but do offer an option for home water filtration.

Distillation Filtration

There are commercially available distillation filters that can be purchased to remove fluoride from water. On a related note: When looking at bottled water, keep in mind that 'distilled water' does not imply that a product is suitable for drinking water and other undesirable impurities may be present.

These Do NOT Remove Fluoride

Brita, Pur, and most other filters.

Some websites about fluoride removal state otherwise, but I checked the product descriptions on the companies' websites to confirm that fluoride is left in the water.

Boiling Water will concentrate the fluoride rather than reduce it.

Freezing water does not affect the concentration of fluoride.

Steps to Reduce Fluoride Exposure

Don't take fluoride supplements.

Read labels on bottled beverages.

Unless they are made using distilled or reverse-osmosis water, they are probably made with fluoridated public water.

Consider using unfluoridated toothpaste.

Avoid drinking black or red tea.

There are many health benefits associated with chemical compounds found in tea, but this may be a beverage to avoid if you need to reduce your fluorine intake. Black and red tea come from two different types of plants, but both leaves naturally contain high amounts of fluorine.
Be wary of tinned fish and canned food items.

Fluoride may be used as a preservative.

Avoid black or red rock salt or items containing black or red rock salt.

Avoid using chewing tobacco.

Avoid long term use of medication that contains fluorine.

Certain antidepressants and medications for osteoporosis contain fluorine.

Extremely Important: Fluoride Treatment – 5 Ways to Detox Fluoride

Admin Addendum:

Quote: Extremely Important: Fluoride Treatment – 5 Ways to Detox Fluoride
Lisa Garber

It should be outrageous to think that the very water we drink is poisoned—but the water actually is. Although calcium fluoride is found naturally in underground and ocean water, the sodium fluoride added to the public water supply is virtually toxic, a wolf in the sheep’s garb of improved dental health. (The West Virginia University Rural Health Research Center says that fluoride doesn’t even prevent cavities; vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids are better allies for that.) Even the federal government is calling for lower levels of fluoride in public water after a Harvard study confirmed fluoride’s lowers IQ. So needless to say, it is extremely important to know of fluoride treatment methods.

In the wake of even more horrifying findings like fluoride’s link to the cardiovascular and cancer epidemic (causing at least 10,000 cancer deaths since 1977), it’s imperative that we learn how to defend ourselves against systematic and casual envenoming of our water. Here are 5 methods for fluoride treatment – ways to detoxify your body of fluoride.

Fluoride Treatment – Iodine
While too much iodine is linked to hypothyroidism, so is too little. The good thing about iodine is that it increases urine irrigation of sodium fluoride as calcium fluoride. Although it does take some calcium with it (calling for an adjustment in diet or calcium supplementation), iodine and lecithin both remove fluoride from the body.

Tamarind
Though originally from Africa, tamarind is a staple in Ayurvedic medicine that can be made into a tea or tincture that pushes fluoride out in urine.

Liver Cleanse
Because the liver is responsible for clearing toxins out of the body, it makes sense to go through a liver cleanse to detox from fluoride. You can do a standard cleanse at home over a week or so; just be sure to undergo a safe and trustworthy cleanse per instructions. If the cleanse is absolutely not for you (although you can read up on 5 reasons you should do it today), you can cleanse your liver daily with these liver cleansing foods. Cleansing the liver is essential for fluoride treatment.

Boron
The next time you’re shopping for laundry detergent, scoop up a box of Borox, which contains boron. Pour 1/32 of a teaspoon (up to ¼ teaspoon) into a liter of distilled water and sip it throughout the day. (Yes, this is safe.) Not only will the box last forever, you can use it to do some eco-friendly cleaning around the house, too.

Dry Saunas
Intense but safe sweating from heat as well as exercise brings out sodium fluoride from fatty tissues. Just be sure to keep hydrating—with distilled water—and to protect your kidneys with chickweed tea.

As with any kind of detox, use caution and go at the pace that feels good for you and your body. In addition to detoxing the fluoride out, you can also limit the amount of fluoride coming in by investing in a water system that filters out fluoride, such as a reverse osmosis water system. As you incorporate any fluoride treatment and the fluoride leaves your system, you’ll experience overall health improvements, and you’ll never look at the faucet the same way again.
