RE: What is the best movie u have seen lately?
I was told that if I liked the walking dead, then I should check out the series "Jericho." Was told that it's more realistic then the walking dead, and as comparably intense. Must say it's definitely close.... and I'd have to recommend the series to anyone who visits this site and hasn't already checked it out. Freakin loved it !! Weeee Couldn't believe that they allowed such outcomes in the story line on mainstream television and I have to applaud the producers.... all spoilers aside. Grin Clap

The short bit from IMDB reads as....
Quote:A small town in Kansas is literally left in the dark after seeing a mushroom cloud over near-by Denver, Colorado. The townspeople struggle to find answers about the blast and solutions on how to survive.

I loved Jericho too, be warned though if you haven't seen it all thought, it's one of those shows that got cancelled just when it was starting to become totally amazing. Be prepared...

One of my earliest posts on this board was about that show Jericho. I loved that show. It was definitely canceled for being way too realistic and plausible. The only series I ever purchased on DVD.

Yeah, I have started watching that show now. I am about 16 episodes in. It's pretty good, a few dumb bits here and there and sometimes kinda naff soap opera but that's to be expected, I guess.

The premise and a lot of the twists are spot on and I agree that is probably why the network thought:

I really like "Oblivion". If you are going to watch it, don't read any further....SPOILERS!!!!
It's an excellent movie on several levels and should be seen. But don't read any further!!!!

That television show really spun my head out lol

The condensed last episode is full throttle!

One interesting aside: the conversation between Mimi and Stan on the porch of his farm in episode 2 of season 2: 'Condor' in interesting.

She muses to him about how much she misses barcodes and they talk about how nice order from chaos feels. Just FYI

Thanks for the heads up on this show, SiLVa and April.

The story is continued in a series of comic books called Jericho Season 3 and Season 4.

They aren't hugely expensive either. Good stuff, thanks Easy. Might try and order them from a comic book shop here. Yeah, I am going to watch Oblivion now.

Whether it was intended or not, I found all kinds of parallels with the current humanity situation and the one in this film. The protagonist, played by Tom Cruise (Mr. Scientology mind controlled guy) is brainwashed and controlled by a mysterious force into thinking the good guys are bad guys, and the slave masters are his friends. At the end we see that the big baddie is a giant pyramid with an eye in the center... I'm not kidding.

I just watched it... the ending is mental.

also apparently there is a significant esoteric meaning to 52

and

Titus-Bode Law and Pascal’s Triangle

In 1768, Bode published his popular book, “Anleitung zur Kenntnis des gestirnten Himmels” [Instruction for the Knowledge of the Starry Heavens]. In this book, he described an empirical law on planetary distances, originally found by J.D. Titius (1729-96), now called “Bode’s Law” or “Titius-Bode Law”.

The original formula was:

a = ( n + 4 ) / 10
where n=0, 3, 6, 12, 24, 48, 96, 192, 384, …

To find the mean distances of the planets, begin with the following simple sequence of numbers:
0 3 6 12 24 48 96 192 384 …
These numbers (after 0) derive from the Pascal’s triangle as the sum of a row added to the sum of the previous row:

Row 1: 2+1=3
Row 2: 4+2=6
Row 3: 8+4=12
Row 4: 16+8=24
Row 5: 32+16=48
Row 6: 64+32=96
Row 7: 128+64=192
Row 8: 256+128=384

Next, add 4 to each number and you will get:
4 7 10 16 28 52 100 196 388
Then divide it by 10:
0.4 0.7 1.0 1.6 2.8 5.2[/] 10.0 19.6 38.8

The resulting sequence is very close to the distribution of mean distances of the planets from the Sun
expressed in Astronomical Units (AU):
Body Actual distance (A.U.) Bode’s Law
Mercury 0.39 0.4
Venus 0.72 0.7
Earth 1.00 1.0
[b]Mars 1.52 1.6

asteroid belt 2.77 2.8
Jupiter 5.20 5.2
Saturn 9.54 10.0
Uranus 19.19 19.6
Neptune 30.06 n/a
Pluto 39.44 38.8

might be interesting to look back into the numbers of the drones - i am pretty sure one was 166 --- 1.--52 1.6 --6

curious.

Mars again? :S

oh, Jupiter too! Apophenia??? That film is loaded. pyramid hal "sally" made me laugh! what a world!

All the good shows get shit canned early... if it's not selling or corrupting you they yank it. Too bad some channel didn't pick up the rights and move forward. if it's a pay for actors thing then like the comic idea go animation cgi or new faces. most of us just want the end of the story.

the 4400, legend of the seeker, caprica, jerimiah, jerico (had to google it when you all spoke of it will check it out. Thought it was jerimiah from the 90's... Smile With all the talent online surprised no one has continued solo with webisodes
