I think Concen is tracking my internet activity.

I think Concen is tracking my internet activity.
Hello everyone! Ever notice when you click on a link from let's say a tracker description for example, a message will appear briefly; "ANONYM.TO Please wait while you are being re-directed to...In einer Sekunde geht es zu..... Espera mientras te redireccionamos a....."

I try to keep my PC clean. I use CCleaner almost daily and run tri-weekly virus scans. So it baffles me as to why I am getting this message when I am being redirected to everything from everywhere!! I have deleted everything in my browser and purposely not visited concen for a few days. Still, no matter what I am doing on-line, totally unrelated to concen, the concen redirect message still appears.

Can anyone tell me why this is happening? How can I stop it? Lastly, does this mean Concen is recording all of my internet activity, even when totally unrelated to the Concen site?

The only thing I can think of is to use this browser exclusively for Concen and use another browser for everything else. I wish it didn't have to be this way, but it's all I can think of.

Sincerely; Blind Theory

LOL

The site you speak of http://anonym.to/ (which you could have visited to check) is simply a site that enables us to link to external sites anonymously! That's it. How you deduce ConCen is tracking you form that though is beyond me.

Paranoid much?

Why your browser is set up to use http://anonym.to/ by default I don't know. But it would only mean that you are more anonymous, as opposed to being watched.

(Thread moved as this is totally off topic).

BlindTheory, read this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HTTP_referrer

anonym.to is what is described there as a dereferrer.

I do get a little uncomfortable when I see that black tigris background when I haven't been on the site for a week. Excuse me not knowing what is apparently obvious. I am not wise to the working of the internet, nor do I wish to be. I am "anti-technology", I merely use a computer and have no aspirations of becoming knowledgeable about the computer itself.... I thought it was a good question.

It was a good question, this site is inhabited with IT brainiacs so nice to have a question from a normal person

Imagine you click on a link to whitehouse.gov or something and the operator of the whitehouse site can see that you were brought there by concen. Not so cool, eh?

It would make sense actually, especially now as the torrent details are displayed here too.

that, and the fact that there's a lot more links in general, plus a lot more to "opposition" websites.

RE: I think Concen is tracking my internet activity.
Really the anonymous redirect just hops off another server unproxied and unencrypted the only thing it really does is obscure the http referrer to the target site which could be useful but who's to say the big sites don't have a deal with anonym.to or other sites (like certain TOR server hops maybe ..), and/or your ISP and all internet traffic is logged, monitored and flagged anyways. Stuff like that only serves as highlighter (I know this for a fact from insiders - btw lots of porn is cloaked, especially encrypted phone calls) on the higher levels but on lower levels (smaller news sites, forums, independent blogs..) you're essentially cloaked from them since their traffic monitors/scripts are likely limited to logs and stats packages.

So yeah just in case you didn't know you're internet activity is tracked. The harder you try to cloak it the more likely it is to be flagged. The only way we could make this more difficult for the watchers is if everyone used proxies and encryption but then the NSA et al would just spend more of our money to track us - given the current situation of people feeding their masters like a good hierarchy of slaves. Even though we've paid for the the vast majority of development, powering, infrastructure and upkeep of the internet - it's not our internet, according to the law of man.

Don't like it, consider a take-back or consider the alternatives to the internet.
There are no others, there is only us.
