RE: concerning comments
welcome to the place that has had all the comments in it. saved for all. your contribution included.

There was always one place to go. here. it was going to happen anyway. the comments for the tracker are (from what i know) going to be merged into the forum as was the plan. More changes are going to take place. The place you were on was the tip of the iceberg. If you wish to section yourself away from the rest of us that is your choice. I cannot recommend any other sites to you, the reasons:

1, why im here. i cant recommend a better forum.
2, about 10 people will tell you what ever site i recommend is a shillSmile
3, you wont find me or any of those 10 people anywhere elseSmile

I'm sorry, but if you can't figure out how to use google or some other search engine to find a different site, then clicking that link that brings you to your torrent's forum thread may actually be too difficult for you... You're actually the first person who I feel sorry for who's complained about the new format. Good luck, and happy hunting. Thanks for keeping your ratio up while you were here.

RE: concerning comments
I came to find out what happened to the comments from ConCen. I had to register again as my normal login details don't work on this forum.

First of all, the comments posted under each of the torrents offer a quick and fairly reliable way of finding out what other members thought of the file that I'm considering downloading so for them to be removed is a major inconvenience and goes against the ethos of the nature of a site which purports to be about getting the information out there. The posting of comments by people who've already downloaded and viewed the torrent contents is a tried and tested system used on many other similar sites and for the comments to have been removed is a damned inconvenience at best.

Secondly, I received absolutely no notice that comments were about to be removed nor could I find a link to explain why or when they were removed. Why not? Does the person responsible for taking this decision not think that current members deserve some warning or explanation? Would a vote not have been a better idea?

Thirdly, given that my upload speed is extremely poor, I willingly pay good money to download from ConCen and I'm eternally grateful to the numerous other members who selflessly take the time to upload. Without them my world would be a whole lot smaller and less informed but a torrent site without comments is like England without the rain.

Finally, the person who calls him/herself Yeti; an administrator no less, HOW RUDE YOU ARE! Like myself, other members have come on here merely to ask what the hell is going on and to try and find out why such a useful part of ConCen has being removed from the site without so much as a word to the current members. I think the tone and content of your replies reveals your immaturity and if you're representative of the quality and mindset of the folks who govern and run ConCen then I'll be reconsidering my choice to remain a member and I'll take my money elsewhere.

If the comments were disabled due to their content being rude or becasue of trolling then I find it hard to believe that they could have been any worse that the replies offered by the administrator Yeti to legitimate questions asked by other members wishing to know what happened to them in the first place.

Who in their right mind would move the comments from underneath the torrent to a completely separate site requiring a separate logon? What kind of logic comes up with that decision?

I'd like to know, and preferably from someone over 14 years old, exactly who's in charge on ConCen. Who am I paying my money to? Who do I email or talk to ask for the comments to be turned back on? And why wasn't I notified?

There is a site called http://cybersage.net which has a steadily growing number (500+ presently) of refugees and exiles from here from recent months. Icon_biggrin

LOL

That would be 488 members, new today: 10. As opposed to 35,764 on the ConCen tracker, new today: 15.

488 -- hmm, not so far off 500, really. I think the number will grow too, myself.

Vis a vi "hearsay" -- concen does NOT have ANYWHERE NEAR that amount of ACTIVE users imho

@Castiel, yeti is really the one to ask. But is is still happening, if only it was easier for him. I think it's the first TT & MyBB integration. At least the first I've found.

@^v^hooters ex, why not just check how many have been active just today on the ConCen tracker site:

Visited Today: 2,038

Anyway, you seem more suited to CyberSage anyway dagomobdog!!! itsaname, I emailed you and due to your polite PM to me got your comments switched back on man! I know you and Genteel had a run in, but that shouldn't affect how you are with everyone!

hmm, yeah, that's pretty good, I agree. It's not over 35k active users though.

You also have to consider, not everyone's logging in daily. I certainly didn't in the first two years. Probably a max of twice a week. That's the same now for most friends I have introduced to the site, very few are active in the sense of logging in daily and even fewer post comments. That's the case with most sites really though.

RE: concerning comments
Seriously people...
take a look at what this site offers, and then take a look at what you're complaining about. whatever issues you might have with management, is it really worth bitching about? What you've taken from here is worth so much more than your ability to rant about some torrent and then have most of the people in the conversation that got so heated basically forget about it (other than the impression they got from you) within 24 hrs, after a couple pages of comments, if that.

Basically, at this point, cybersage offers mostly torrents that have been downloaded from here or were available here first, torrent comments, and a sympathetic ear for whiners that have too high an opinion of themselves and a distrust of anyone doing anything that they can't watch or control, plus some awesome, genuinely decent people trying to improve the community and share knowledge. Sounds pretty much the same as here except for the sypathetic ear for whiners, torrent comments and the MUCH LARGER and constantly growing community with tons more knowledge and resources to share.

I hope cybersage grows and thrives. I really hope it does. The more the merrier, but I think I'll stick with the better resource.

It is, in the end, about access to information, right? Name a better resource than Concen.

give it a shot.
