Hmm, I wonder if an i7 with 24GB RAM and a nVidia GTX 560 dual head could run it...

with that set up you can get a version tuned for sandybridge. extra fast although i think the current optimised version is having trouble with hair particles.

that 560 running cuda on cycles can get some real time rendering you will be quite impressed with.

Im rendering on an old core2 duo 6850 with a gf250 and im still having run. using openmp will boost your performance greatly.

2.59 released

This would be considered "final" although new versions are being produced via graphicall. everything is completed. The real final stage will be full implementation of the google summer of code additions "blender salad"

I think its about that time again for a blender update.

A new short film to be made using blender. This will be showing off its features including augmented reality and virtual sets with live actors. should be good. Im hoping they are going to be using a cuda render farm as id like to see what its capable of. donate and get your name on the DVD with all source files/assets.

Current status:

Integrating cycles and Tomato branch into blender with full compatibility. Some issues and argument on workflow.

its short but some really nice stuff here. everything apart from a few props and live action. the rest is virtual sets, matchmoving, camera tracking.... the works a tour de force...epic.
