I love it. I will have to try it out next time I go to the post office, just for the fun of it.

On the thread topic, Gasland is a great documentary everyone should watch, however certain points (as with everything) are exaggerated. Methane and other gasses do naturally occur (one only has to consider swamp bubbles to figure out this), but the effects the natural gas industry have are real and devastating.

Of course, one should not really care so much about the extent of the damage, seeing as all of it is unnecessary. Tesla solved our little electricity problem, but you cannot put a meter on free. Personally, I think that while it is very important to know as much as one can about everything that is relevant and important, it is vital to focus on the solutions rather than debating the extent of the problem we are in.

That said, the damage is still real and there certainly is no harm in raising awareness about the issue. Nugak, to dismiss the chemicals because they are used in hairspray is reckless, as it seems you do not consider for a moment that maybe hairspray is deadly because of the chemicals in it? Also, while certain chemicals may be harmless on their own, one should also consider the chemical reactions. It is, however, wise not to simply accept something that is critical of something else, such as Gasland is critical of natural gas. As I said, there are some exaggerations and flaws, but one simply has to filter them out. There is no place of pure truth.

All in all, I would say do your own research, no matter what you believe, as open-minded as possible. Gasland is a great documentary, and is an interesting critical view of the natural gas industry. Worth watching, and some of the questions one is left with (Where do the chemicals go?) are worth following through.

Here's another anti-frak documentary (24 minutes).

Un•earthed: Setting the track record straight -
A video exposing a flawed claim often abused in the sales pitch for promoting shale gas development across the world:

"With a history of 60 years, after nearly a million wells drilled, there are no documented cases that hydraulic fracturing ('fracking') has lead to the contamination of groundwater."

Brought to you by the team behind the upcoming South African feature documentary, Un•earthed, that is investigating natural gas development and the controversial method of extraction known as "fracking" from a global perspective. Should South Africa and other countries drill down?

lmao

Wouldn't it be great if we forced the asshole who said this to say it in front of a large group of people who's wells have been destroyed?

.. that statement is the most widely used rebuttal by pro-frakkers.

This statement is picked apart to little pieces in this short expose.
