A Lotus has been grown from a 700-year-old seed which dates back to Korea's Goryeo Dynasty.

The plant has been grown in Haman County, South Gyeongsang Province, South Korea.

The flower has been grown from one of the 10 lotus seeds discovered during an excavation of an ancient castle last year.

Scientists at the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources, have confirmed two of the seeds to be as old as 650 years and 760 years, respectively

The county also planted the eight other seeds and three of them sprouted.

don't know if it'd be the same type but it is pretty wild yeah. I wonder if they plan to make tests for any psychoactive or medicinal compounds/properties.

Thats nice given picture put up ,i think its great for Korean scientist ,i seen before this flower in the you tube but i am not sure.its great picture.but how can i believe its 700 years old?

nah i just open three threads at once and then comment and got mixed up cause i was too stoned :/

what happened to jackvinsly why was he banned ?

i was looking through the member list, who is genteel, i don't think i have ever seen a post over the years but he is admin ? probably not the right place to ask, but where is ?

haha, looking over his posts i am amazed at the quality of the bot. They are some what on topic but nonsensical. very impressive.

sorry to go off topic. I wonder how many other plants they could re create like this, i don't see why they couldn't try and re create extinct animal species based on dna samples.
