Jesus was a Vegetarian along with other Great Men

Jesus was a Vegetarian along with other Great Men
Jesus was a Vegetarian *Must See* Flesh Shall Ye Not Eat
Torrent that went along with description.

I have gone to some work putting this togeather so, Please before refuting the idea that Yahshua(jesus) may have been compassionate towards animals, Please look at a little of the provided evidence.

A couple of quotes:
"The time will come when men such as I
will look upon the murder of animals
as they now look upon the murder of men."

"The obligations of law and equity reach only to mankind;
but kindness and beneficence should be extended
to the creatures of every species,
and these will flow from the breast of a true man,
as streams that issue from the living fountain."

PLUTARCH (46-120 AD.)

"It is very significant
that some of the most
thoughtful and cultured men
are partisans of a pure vegetable diet."

MAHATMA GANDHI (1869-1948)

"The gods created certain kinds of beings
to replenish our bodies...
they are the trees and the plants and the seeds."

PLATO (circa 428-347 B.C.)

"Every man who has ever been earnest to preserve
his higher or poetic faculties in the best condition,
has been particularly inclined to abstain from animal food."

"The animals share with us
the privilege of having a soul."

PYTHAGORAS (circa 582-507 B.C.)

"People often say that humans have always eaten animals,
as if this is a justification for continuing the practice.
According to this logic, we should not try
to prevent people from murdering other people,
since this has also been done since the earliest of times."

"The moral duty of man consists of imitating
the moral goodness and beneficence of God,
manifested in the creation, toward all His creatures."

THOMAS PAINE (1737-1809)

"My refusing to eat meat occasioned an inconveniency,
and I have been frequently chided for my singularity.
But my light repast allows for greater progress,
for greater clearness of head and quicker comprehension."

For True Patriotic Americans the following should be an eye opener. The following And above names were all vegetarians
George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Paine, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Mark Twain
Henrey David Thoreau, Thomas Edison, Albert Einstien, Nikola Tesla
I wish I could put Thomas jefferson but as he said "I have lived temperately, eating little animal food, and that not as an aliment, so much as a condiment for the vegetables which constitute my principal diet."
So he was not a full vegetarian.

Other names like:

Now I have heard it said and i agree to it that Yahshua(jesus) was the lord of love, prince of peace & king of compassion was less compassionate and loving towards animals then the above men.

I know someone is going to say that animals have NO SOUL so ill jump on that one first.

According to the Bible, animals have souls. Texts such as Genesis 1:21,24 are often mistranslated to read "living creatures." The exact Hebrew used in reference to animals throughout the Bible is "nephesh chayah," or "living soul." This is how the phrase has been translated in Genesis 2:7 and in four hundred other places in the Old Testament. Thus, Genesis 1:30 should more accurately read: "And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is a living soul, I have given every green herb for meat."

Instaid of posting verse after verse from the KJV of the Bible im going to post a couple of links that each contain a short article of verses.

Now here
List of verses from the Gospel of the holy twelve

For a discription on the books and for further information on this topic i feel it is needed to read my discription on my last torrent where i go into great detail about the distortions of Yahshuas teachings here:

Now if anyone on this tracker holds no respect for any of the men listed above(do a search and you can find many more) then please insult the post. Or Go on Ahead and say that these men had more love, more compassion then Yahshua or mabey they just knew better then him? I donno Please tell me.

I Find it sad & sometimes funny. How people for peace & Compassion in the world, For the suffering of children, Woman & men to end, Be it from Disease, War or anything else. Just about everyone at some points has asked, prayed or wished for it. Ever hear you weep what you sow?
Well by that it is meant, you get what you put out, If no one can see the corelation between the killing of billions of animals a year for nothing more than lustful tase and pleasure and how the elites of the world treat us exacly how the common man would think of a cow, before or after it was set between two peices of bread.
Ask Not what you are unwilling to offer, How can anyone ask for compassion when they show none to creatures of lower intelligence. Would YOu kick around a retard because he was dumb or mabey make a meal of him because he was unable to write a book? LOL
As for me I feel those who are incapable of defending or taking care of themselves should be helped not Bullied.

Genesis 9:3-5 KJ
3Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things.

4But flesh with the life thereof, which is the blood thereof, shall ye not eat.

5And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man's brother will I require the life of man.

Isaiah 66:3 "He that killeth an ox is as he that slayeth a man."

Matthew 25:40 "Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it unto one of these my brethren, [even] these least, ye did it unto me."

Isaiah 1:11-16 "To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? saith the LORD: I am full of the burnt offerings of rams, and the fat of fed beasts; and I delight not in the blood of bullocks, or of lambs, or of he goats. When ye come to appear before me, who hath required this at your hand, to tread my courts? Bring no more vain oblations; incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with; it is iniquity, even the solemn meeting. Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hateth: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them. And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood. Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil. . . "

Matthew 9:13 "But go ye and learn what [this] meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice . . . "

Matthew 12:7 "But if ye had known what this meaneth, I desire mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless."

Matthew 21:12-13 "And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."

For those with an Open Mind And those who do NOT believe that by going to other gospels not in the KJ Bible, will show lack of faith and be sent to hell. Browse the following pages:

In order for one to dispute what I claim as facts located In the above sites as so far as it is a quoted verse from The Gospel Of Peace Or Gospel Of The Holy Twelve, one would have to read a couple of verses and show logically how Yahshua(Jesus) would not have said these things and if one wants to dispute how the documents mentioned above are false then one would at the very least have to give a source or reference to someone who attempts to prove such Or One would have to attempt it themselves.
It is childish to blatantly Yell false and give nothing to back up ones claim.

Blessed are those who seek, For they shall find.

Gospel Of The Holy Twelve Lection LXXV 9-14
9. Verily I say unto you, for this end have I come into the world, that I may put away all blood offerings and the eating of the flesh of the beasts and the birds that are slain by men.
10. In the beginning, God gave to all, the fruits of the trees, and the seeds, and the herbs, for food; but those who loved themselves more than God, or their fellows, corrupted their ways, and brought diseases into their bodies, and filled the earth with lust and violence.
11. Not by shedding innocent blood, therefore, but by living a righteous life, shall ye find the peace of God. Ye call me the Christ of God and ye say well, for I am the Way, the Truth and the Life.
12. Walk ye in the Way, and ye shall find God. Seek ye the Truth, and the Truth shall make you free. Live in the Life, and ye shall see no death. All things are alive in God, and the Spirit of God filleth all things.
13. Keep ye the commandments. Love thy God with all thy heart, and love thy neighbour as thyself. On these hang all the law and the prophets. And the sum of the law is this—Do not ye unto others as ye would not that others should do unto you. Do ye unto others, as ye would that others should do unto you.
14. Blessed are they who keep this law, for God is manifested in all creatures. All creatures live in God, and God is hid in them. (The Holy 12)

I believe Jesus was against injustice and "game" of animals, but he ate meat. There isn't anything wrong with eating meat, it's natural.

I believe this whole line of commentary is appeal to authority, which is a logical fallacy. Also Mohammad Ali chose to have his brain beaten to hamburger and Socrates purportedly committed suicide so I don't know if these are even good authorities to appeal to.

Was he one of those vegetarians who eat fish? Also I reckon you could make a walloper of a list of "great men" who were omnivores, could stick some chimpansees in there too! An infinite number and infinite typewriters will give you shakespeare!

RE: Jesus was a Vegetarian along with other Great Men
i hate to stick my foot in it but here it goes
Jesus was a Jewish man who was recorded in the bible partaking of the passover IE the last supper and so on which traditionally was a meal of lamb ...i while not jewish personally have been involved with many jewish holidays because my grandfather converted as an adult...dont ask me why please lol but anyhow i know a great deal about the was kind of an education we were offered as children and i have always been fascinated by different belief systems anyhoo back to the point as was stated above many of jesus' followers were fishermen and Jesus was famed for feeding thousands of people on fish and bread so the idea that jesus was so vegan is ludacris
no with that said i totally agree that Paul is a fraud who twisted the words of Jesus (if u in fact believe anything that is i n the new testament of for that matter the bible)
i do believe the man Jesus or Yashua did in fact exist but the church has a total distortion of his message
but this whole no meat angle is really kind of laughable...if you were meant to be a vegan you would have 4 stomachs you would have eyes on the sides of your heads and you would not be the dominant species on this or any planet because plants are food for herbivorous and herbivorous are food for carnivorous ...not to mention that human beings (who are technically omnivorous) contain Gelatinase, which is an enzyme that specifically exists for breaking down meat protein and is not found in things that were not meant to eat meat. now don't get me wrong i agree we need fruits and veggies but please keep in mind we would not be the top creature on earth without also being the top of the food chain.
i don't want to attack anyone for their personal choices, if you chose not to eat meat so be it but twisting the words of Jesus and rewriting Jewish history further makes you no different than the corrupt church and Paul the usurper and even though i am sure the people who wrote the piece mean only the best it is simply not correct and even though i agree Paul is in fact responsible for a great deal of misinformation about Jesus as my mother said 2 wrongs don't make a right
so thats my opinion on that
<insanedread braces for the backlash> Wink
i grabbed the wrong thread for that post i meant it put that on the paul or yashua thread it works here too though i guess

Jesus fed 4000 men with fish. He also practiced passover. How about that?

RE: Jesus was a Vegetarian along with other Great Men
I prefer looking at the issue in a scientific context, rather than a religious one on this forum, especially considering some of the most painful and disgusting conspiracies originated through religion... here's a take on veggie-ism that I found recently:
Quote:Eating Meat is not Natural

By Kathy Freston, AlterNet
Posted on June 15, 2009, Printed on December 21, 2009</h5>;

Going through the reader feedback on some of my recent articles, I noticed the frequently stated notion that eating meat was an essential step in human evolution. While this notion may comfort the meat industry, it’s simply not true, scientifically.

Dr. T. Colin Campbell, professor emeritus at Cornell University and author of The China Study (please check out the link), explains that in fact, we only recently (historically speaking) began eating meat, and that the inclusion of meat in our diet came well after we became who we are today. He explains that “the birth of agriculture only started about 10,000 years ago at a time when it became considerably more convenient to herd animals. This is not nearly as long as the time [that] fashioned our basic biochemical functionality (at least tens of millions of years) and which functionality depends on the nutrient composition of plant-based foods.”

That jibes with what Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine President Dr. Neal Barnard says in his book, The Power of Your Plate, in which he explains that “early humans had diets very much like other great apes, which is to say a largely plant-based diet, drawing on foods we can pick with our hands. Research suggests that meat-eating probably began by scavenging -- eating the leftovers that carnivores had left behind. However, our bodies have never adapted to it. To this day, meat-eaters have a higher incidence of heart disease, cancer, diabetes, and other problems.”

There is no more authoritative source on anthropological issues than paleontologist Dr. Richard Leakey, who explains what anyone who has taken an introductory physiology course might have discerned intuitively -- that humans are herbivores. Leakey notes that “[y]ou can’t tear flesh by hand, you can’t tear hide by hand ... We wouldn’t have been able to deal with food source that required those large canines” (although we have teeth that are called “canines,” they bear little resemblance to the canines of carnivores).

In fact, our hands are perfect for grabbing and picking fruits and vegetables. Similarly, like the intestines of other herbivores, ours are very long (carnivores have short intestines so they can quickly get rid of all that rotting flesh they eat). We don’t have sharp claws to seize and hold down prey. And most of us (hopefully) lack the instinct that would drive us to chase and then kill animals and devour their raw carcasses. Dr. Milton Mills builds on these points and offers dozens more in his essay, “A Comparative Anatomy of Eating.”

The point is this: Thousands of years ago when we were hunter-gatherers, we may have needed a bit of meat in our diets in times of scarcity, but we don’t need it now. Says Dr. William C. Roberts, editor of the American Journal of Cardiology, “Although we think we are, and we act as if we are, human beings are not natural carnivores. When we kill animals to eat them, they end up killing us, because their flesh, which contains cholesterol and saturated fat, was never intended for human beings, who are natural herbivores.”

Sure, most of us are “behavioral omnivores” -- that is, we eat meat, so that defines us as omnivorous. But our evolution and physiology are herbivorous, and ample science proves that when we choose to eat meat, that causes problems, from decreased energy and a need for more sleep up to increased risk for obesity, diabetes, heart disease, and cancer.

Old habits die hard, and it’s convenient for people who like to eat meat to think that there is evidence to support their belief that eating meat is “natural” or the cause of our evolution. For many years, I too, clung to the idea that meat and dairy were good for me; I realize now that I was probably comforted to have justification for my continued attachment to the traditions I grew up with.

But in fact top nutritional and anthropological scientists from the most reputable institutions imaginable say categorically that humans are natural herbivores, and that we will be healthier today if we stick with our herbivorous roots. It may be inconvenient, but it alas, it is the truth.

I totally agree with Insanedread on this one. Besides the bible being written 300 years after the death of Jesus, there is still proof he was not a veggie. Plus, in Islam, being a veggie because you think we are not meat eaters, is a sin.

Just to let all of you who are veg and eat cheese know, the enzyme rennet, used to culture cheese comes from the belly of calfs. There are some other sources of rennet, but most comes from (dead) calf stomachs, so eat up.

I have to disagree...
as a veteran of the natural food industry for over a decade, most cheeses, even though they're loaded w/ dioxin, are rarely made out of animal rennet anymore - it's far cheaper to synthesize rennet from vegetable sources, and for factory food producers, any cost cutting they can manage is what they'll do. You see it in the meat industry all the time. 100% USDA certified grade A ground beef is allowed to be up to a third fillers - McDonalds used to use earthworms...

Only really expensive cheeses that try to keep to traditional recipes use animal rennet these days.

I used to have a source article for this info, but the iguana I live with, (a fruitarian,) recently took a sh*t on my keyboard and killed my computer (a laptop, of course,) and killed of a lot of my source material.

I do appreciate veganism, as that's how I started the first 6 months of my vegetarianism, and would prefer to stay that way, but my locale and my budget haven't allowed for it.
