You know how in cop shows they seize deviants' computers and bring them back to the lab for some good ol' latex gloved analysis to prove how obviously guilty or sick the suspect is? That's old hat. Microsoft's latest treat for law enforcement is COFEE (Computer Online Forensic Evidence Extractor), a USB drive that'll cut through whatever flimsy security miscreants have slapped on their computer in a flash, and then automatically analyze the dirty bits the cops need to bust their ass, from internet activity to stored data, no pwnage skillz or trips to the lab needed. Microsoft's giving the wonder tube to lawmen for free, and 2,000 officers in 15 countries are already using it.

if you're gonna atleast act like a tough guy and pretend you have encryption, why not enlighten the rest of us as to how you did it. Or atleast tell us the NAME of the method you're using....

:-/

Here's an example of a great post:

Come and get it INTERPOL. I SAW you outside my HOUSE yesterday. I'm ready for you!!!!!11 Becasuse I have T r u e C r y p t - free open-source disk encryption software for Windows Vista/XP, Mac OS X, and Linux

i am not sure if i am right but i think if you have them in a state of unlocked they are still readable by outside threats. it works if the pc is turned off or the drives are files that you have to mount and only open when you use them. but even then it is annoying that you have to open them and close them constantly. i guess it is better than not doing it. i should do it but all my drives a filled with data.

Do you regularly insult people and accuse them of lying while asking them for help? If so, how is that working for you?

Yes, as does the version I'm running. It's been an optional addon for linux OSs for years.

There's also the option of using heavy encryption while tarring and gzipping, which I've done for at least ten years.

True. If someone has rootkitted my box, I'm wide open while turned on. Drive encryption is only part of an overall security strategy. There is also the balance between security and ease of use - if it isn't easy to use, people will tend not to use it.

I've been doing it for a long time, and have therefore built a set of scripts that make accessing encrypted data as easy as running a script with a parameter or two, while my USB memory key is connected. Even if they get my USB key, the private key is passphrase protected, so they won't be able to crack it easily - but it can be done...

That would be what I asked, If you want to make a post in a thread, plz add content. Not just "MY COMPURAR IS INVINCIBLE!!!! Enkyrptichion!!!"

Also I dont see why any of that matters. Truecrypt creates false data, and without it's passphrase the data basically looks like torrenting. Random 1's and 0's you can't distinguish beginning or end of file. The decoy drive is my favorite thing about Truecrypt :-D

Again with the insults! I don't need a lecture on what to post, especially when it's accompanied by insults.

Keep insulting me and you'll be banned. Do you understand yet?
