Declaration Of Independence Bought For 2.48 Cents
Rare document bought for less than three dollars is worth a whole lot more

NASHVILLE, Tenn. A copy of the Declaration of Independence that sold for two-dollars-and-48-cents at a Tennessee thrift shop last March turns out to be the real deal.
The 184-year-old document is being sold at auction next month, and appraisers say it could fetch as much as 250-thousand dollars. It was one of 200 so-called "official" copies of the Declaration of Independence commissioned by John Quincy Adams in 1820.

Music equipment technician Michael Sparks bought the document at a thrift shop in Nashville. The yellowed, shellacked, rolled-up document didn't have a price one it. And the clerk marked it as two-48 when Sparks asked, how much.

The opening bid at auction will be 125-thousand dollars.

the irony is that, thats how much its really worth these days LOL!
In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.

As a reputed atheist, the reverential nature of his film was surprising, but Pasolini himself said &If you know that I am an unbeliever, then you know me better than I do myself. I may be an unbeliever, but I am an unbeliever who has a nostalgia for a belief.&

Good question. Some of us consider it priceless while others think it's just a g-damned piece of paper.

A piece of paper that many died for just so we can hear these useless civil servants condemn it. What a thankless evil bunch of feces.
Yo

It's funny, because the guy says it's not about the money, but... he's going to sell it at an auction, where it's all about how much money you can get. I was half-expecting some lame charity proceeds being mentioned, just so he's still a patriot in this Brave New World. I swear, it's like people are reading an obligatory script. And, what's worse, people believe this script, knowing full well it's just lip-service. Meh.

Ha, good one!
