Why does Islam have to be the "first" to speak the truth? The truth has been in shown in many traditions from the beginning of time. God sends revelations in different forms, at different times in history, for a variety of reasons. IMHO, Islam came as a reminder about the truth taught by Jesus, to show the need for surrender along with other dimensions not emphasized within Christianity, and to give order to a society in chaos. Judaism served a similar function in its own time, and, like the others, continues to offer a living tradition of wisdom and inspiration parallel to its more calcified and politicized version. I happen to resonate with the Sufi tradition, but I love and get nourishment from the others as well. (I think I even remember enjoying some Chuang Tsu back in student days.) I personally like having a tradition (I was raised without one), but I don't think God ever meant for us to pick one and disparage all the rest. We reflect off each other, fill in missing dimensions. No one has all the truth. It's a jigsaw puzzle and was meant to be so.

you question why Islam has to be the first to see the truth. Every fucking religionsays that. Christianity definitely does. Thus is why I don't beleive religion. Arguments between religions is like sports fans counting their chickens in the preseason. Nobody has any empirical evidence, just scripture.
