Canadian Action Party
I was thinking about joining the canadian action party. I'm wondering if anybody here has done so, and what has been there experience? Is it worth it?

thanks

I haven't officially joined yet, but I am planning on it when I get the time to be more active in such matters. Every interaction I have had with members of CAP over the 'net has been very encouraging.

RE: Canadian Action Party
I helped them with their campaign and marketing this year, and I was a VP of the national executive but I didn't see eye to eye with the leadership on many issues, then I got really sick and left for more of a PR role.

Too many in the party have a lot to learn. They were still in the red pill phase but I felt that my presence helped a few (that wanted to) see a few things for more of the complexities of the game.

We need to clarify policy but they have a good heart. We suffered many infiltrations, thefts and party crashes in the past few months. We fell well short of getting anything done and political parties have a lot of red tape and well .. politics to deal with.

Politics isn't really the way to go but it serves as a PAC and a avenue to discuss and a platform to speak about real issues. The real battle is in peoples' individual hearts and minds first to get Canada built up on sovereignty and values again.

They had their issues and we had our differences on policy but I learned at lot being a part of it and still keep in touch with them as they are comprised of hard working, committed, selfless, proactive individuals.

It would be interesting to hear more about that.

Not a lot of time but I'll go over it briefly:

A former leader Dr. Andrew Moulden Lots of Credentials and an Anti-Vaccine advocate managed to get elected leader at the National Convention. He then left the party and the country abruptly and there was a lot of funds that suddenly disappeared and no one else could seem to access the accounts. I came in after that and I won't go into any more detail on that one as it is pretty messed up and has all sorts of conflicting stories. I just wasn't there so I don't want to mis-represent anyone.

Somehow we gave retroactive pay to a volunteer member for internet and phone expenses. The individual did a lot but that was a bad move IMO. Maybe a gift basket would have been better. But it was voted upon and she got it (I was opposed to it).

A rift developed over a few issues. Mainly a voting system (I was on the wrong side of that with others).

We had a number of Larouche Pack members. A New Age troller that was a higher up in politics at one point, that I sincerely wish the best for but she has lost her mind. I exposed the Money as Debt guy as a shill but we still ran his videos on our homepage, even after a redesign. Discussions of a merger with the NDP were brought up and they even approached us at one point.

That said there was a lot of good done. We broguht massive attention to the private central banking system, the NAU but on the other hand we were a little green for my liking in protecting nature in wide bans on nuclear and oil with no real alternative energy systems in place. I was pushing for more geothermal but gradually.

Our leader was highly accessible but he was of the environmental ilk at the same time we actually convinced him that a good part of Global warming was a swindle if not a total fraud.

They had a 9/11 investigation request as a plank a few years ago but dropped that platform.

Really there just wasn't enough manpower to take care of everything in the depth and detail we wanted. Too much invested in the pitch and not enough on the policy plan. The party was too easily knocked off task by floods of troll emails that disrupted some of the more sensitive members

I wrote up a lot of ideas but nothing got addressed since I didn't put it to the agenda meeting formally but I had a chance to speak. I'd be overstepping my bounds if I released the mp3s but you can sign up as a member and have at the archives. I received very little feedback on my ideas so I felt a bit muted, even though I was an NE member.

It was both frustrating and interesting; and at the same time demoralizing and energizing.

There were some very good people in the party, I helped weed out some trolls. Overall glad I participated.

Thanks for the synopsis. I'm guessing your troll experience here came in handy!

RE: Canadian Action Party
Hear the leader of the Canadian Action Party talk on the Occupy movement and decide yourself if this CAP is worthy of your personal support. I may take another run at this "in the system" angle of getting people together and getting people to think about using political avenues in tandem with grassroots community proactivism to get things done.

Quote:Corbett Report :: Christopher Porter and Lawrence McCurry

Christopher Porter of the Canadian Action Party and Lawrence McCurry of CanadaAwakes.blogspot.com join us to talk about the spread of the Occupy Wall Street to Canada and the dangers/opportunities of this protest movement for bringing real political change and monetary reform.

DDL mp3 of interview (~51 minutes)

My thoughts which I presented to Mr. Porter and the Canadian Action Party when I was VP of the National Executive which didn't make policy but I was assured privately it would be taken under consideration and introduced once momentum for idea was at a certain threshold to advance discussion on the finer points are available on this thread.
