Greetings from Croatia
Hi!
I've been lurking the forums for some time, and I finally decided to join actively. As my quote stands, I'm here to learn (and to expertise my English in the process  )

My country is in the process to integrate in EU, and few years ago I was all for it (greater pays, better living for all, various benefits...), but now I'm more skeptic than those flag-waving-ultra-right wing nationalists. Ask why.

Anyways, I'm glad to be part of CC community.

Are you one of those Nazi Ustashis? Croatia's the only country in the World that still likes Nazis...

Why don't you do a little research on Project Paperclip and find out that your very own country is not exactly allergic to Nazis as well...

BTW You're asking the wrong question. Nazism, or rather socialism, is the favorite plaything of the Elites rather than "countries".

Welcome, we're glad to have you.

Since you want to learn english better, allow me to point out your mistake.
You're not here to "expertise" your english, but rather exercise it. (see definition 3)

Yup, that's me. Pavelic is my mothers maiden name.
Just kidding.

Nazis&Ustashe thing in Croatia is so damn complexed, that majority of Croats don't want to discuss it. My grandpa was just a partizan courier in WWII, and my family wasn't hurt either by ustashe nor partizans, therefore i don't have any problem digging into that subject.

In past 15-16 years that my country gained independence from Yugoslavia, there were many books, articles, science papers... hell, even our first president, up until his death, Franjo Tudjman (uglyfacemaking-slime, as we call him here) was obsessed whit that issue, and wrote few (silly and historically wrong) books about it, which influenced my fellow citizens (mostly blind sheeple) and their concept of right or wrong. But interesting thing is that he was blaming freemasonary and Soros (in part) for our problems as state that is trying to get independence, and he was a priori against all integrations (especially EU).

Even more interesting thing is that his nemesis Slobodan Milosevic was also blaming white-world conspirators (as he called it) as evil force that's not letting his idea of Great Serbia come alive.

Oh, and how about Dayton treaty (that was US government idea) which balkanized Bosnia, and this region for good.

And not to mention role of catholic church in all this...

To cut long story short, they got what they wanted, and that is total confusion based on wrong historical facts.
Sounds familiar?

Anyway, enough of that wacky stuff

thanks for the welcome and thanks for the tip CTRL.
I know my semantics is not that good and i hope it will get better (by exercise  )

Hi mate ! Nice to see someone not from the us for a change.

I am also from a country that has recently joined the EU - and earlier I was all up for it - but now I am not so sure.

Enjoy your stay here but be cautious - I found that the more info I get the more confused I become... - It may be quite possibly the very goal of "the powers that be"...
Inability to make up your mind is an equivalent of a mental limbo - not cool..
Plus it becomes harder and harder to enjoy life with the knowledge that gets passed around here and alienates us from the sheep (the problem being that they are almost all society...)

Also a nice quote in your sig. I find it VERY true.

And to the guy that mentioned nazis - WTF dude? Why would you do that to someone u dont even know ? To start a fight ? WHY ? ... some people..

Anyway - nice to see you here and enjoy !

Hi neighbor!

I couldn't agree more on stuff you said. Especially about alienation. Sometimes I think that maybe that's how it is supposed to be. Karma n' all that stuff. I mean, people are so pre-programmed by media and society, that it gets frustrating hitting the same walls over and over again.

Same with the perception of my country by some (uninformed) people.

Anyways, nice to hear from someone in the same boat.

And why the fuck not?!?!? NYTimes had a HUGE article about Nazis & Ustashis and Croatia las month and they portrayed the whole country as some kind of a Nazi safe-haven. Why shouldn't I ask from someone over there!?
