Have you ever wanted to re-edit a mainstream movie to your tastes ?

Then you may appreciate fanedit.org (at this link)

Many of the "editors" at this site are actually professional movie editors.

Comprising over seven hours of total film time, the first three "prequel" episodes of the STAR WARS saga are THE PHANTOM MENACE, ATTACK OF THE CLONES, and REVENGE OF THE SITH.

One of the "fan editors" has merged these three "prequel" STAR WARS movies into one three hour movie entitled THE FALL OF THE REPUBLIC.

Full details at this link.

The "fan editor" for THE FALL OF THE REPUBLIC states: "This is a much darker take on the rise of Darth Vader and the Fall of the Jedi Republic. Lots and lots of unnecessary scenes were cut to solely focus on what really matters: how did the dark side take over?"

A decent 4 gig version is currently on Mininova ...

... or you could obtain a "high-res" version via Rapidshare at this same link.

In my opinion, THE FALL OF THE REPUBLIC converts the STAR WARS "prequel" episodes into a very different viewing experience by focusing "on what really matters: how did the dark side take over?".

STAR WARS purists will have quibbles about what was eliminated and sequences that were re-ordered ...

... but this "edit" now brings into the forefront the specific strategies used by the "dark side" to undermine the Republic.

If it has been a while since you viewed the STAR WARS prequels ...

... then you may want to check out THE FALL OF THE REPUBLIC.

&I've come to the conclusion, after having spent many years in politics, is that our presidential elections turn out to be more of a charade than anything else, and I think that is true today. It is a charade,& - Ron Paul, Sept 2008.

The crisis of modern democracy is a profound one. Free elections, a free press and an independent judiciary mean little when the free market has reduced them to commodities available on sale to the highest bidder.

The era of manufacturing consent has given way to the era of manufacturing news. Soon media newsrooms will drop the pretense, and start hiring theater directors instead of journalists.

The structure of capitalism is flawed. The motor that powers it cannot but vastly increase the disparity between the poor and the rich globally and within countries as well. Parecon is a brave argument for replacing that flawed machine and offers a much needed -- more equitable, democratic, participatory -- alternative economic vision.

[The choice between John Kerry and George Bush] is not a real choice. It's an apparent choice. Like choosing a brand of detergent. Whether you buy Ivory Snow or Tide, they're both owned by Proctor & Gamble.

Dr. Hermann Oberth who pioneered rocket design for the German Reich during World War II and later advanced rocket technology for the American manned space launches, cryptically stated: "We cannot take the credit for our record advancement in certain scientific fields alone; we have been helped."

When asked by whom, he replied: "The people of other worlds."

The Fall of the Republic
Thanks!

Ah, Britain. Where you can be fined for saying 'f..k' in a private conversation. Where every single child will soon be fingerprinted. Where all people will be ordered to carry an I.D. card at all times, to be swiped every time they withdraw a fairly small amount of money from the bank, buy an airline ticket, apply for a fishing license, purchase property, apply for a library card, get a prescription filled, and so on. Where you can be sentenced to 80 hours of community service for wearing the wrong T-shirt. Where having a pen knife in your car can get you arrested. Where being too fat can get you carted off to a mental institution. Where government workers will come to your home to verify you're not using too much electricity, and to note whether or not you smoke. Where all vehicles' whereabouts will soon be monitored by satellite 24/7. Where you'll get fined for using a pencil instead of a pen when filling out a form. Where people are captured by video surveillance cameras some 300 times a day. Where officials tell you how to go to the bathroom.

The government are keeping many secret that are beneficial to humanity. That is to say that what benefits the majority is suppressed or classified as top secret. They are the enemy of the people. We are their slaves they leech off us like a cancer and the only cure is true knowledge or the truth.

I think the Arabs are helping the authorities get more controls over you people.
