Do you trust them enough to eat cloned animals, do you believe it's safe?

I wouldn't eat it. You never know how much genetic degradation a human body can take. Look into PRIONS... they're protein and yet they cause horrific diseases (CJD and mad cow disease). What exactly can genetically degraded meat do, I have no idea.

it comes down to choice... and why take the risk when you don't have to?

I personally fancy the whole idea of biotechnology... This technology just started to evolve and I believe it is one of the most promising sciences of the future.

I just don't trust the FDA, when they say these animals are safe enough to eat. I think the problem is, that our process of cloning still isn't developed to degree, where we could clone an organism without damaging it's DNA while extracting. - what used to cause the defects and health problems of cloned animals at least in the past...
My guess is they are going to train themselves on these animals, trying to achieve better cloning technique, maybe (?) Besides, they can make profit out of these lab rats, i mean cows x) ...but that's just my guess

But i know i'm not gonna eat this kind of meat soon, if at all..

Massive cow deaths...

BSE, Bovine Tuberculosis, Immunosuppresion and electricity(?), heat-related (100 degree weather and CA dairy cow deaths).

Strange neurologic disease in pork processing workers.

Avian flu...

I guess it is the time to build the ubervieh; uberschwein, and ubervögel -- courtesy of ubermensch.

Fear the mutations!

If meat from cloned animals is safe to eat, why is it a FACT that cloned animals die younger and develop more disease?

(Example here

Also, in light of our so-called democratic political systems, how come the unelected American FDA and their unelected EU counterparts announced the intention to allow cloned meat into the food supply in the same week?

The deceit is criminal - as is the generalized apathy among the public. Get a grip folks, before these b@stards kill us all.
The three grand imperatives of imperial geostrategy are to prevent collusion and maintain security dependence among the vassals, to keep tributaries pliant and protected, and to keep the barbarians from coming together. Zbig the Ruthless.

Yeah, that's my point too - these animals have damaged DNA, because of our 'clumsy' cloning technique. These animals obivously aren't as healthy as 'normal' animals are. So it can't be as healthy for us to eat them, too.

It is obvious.

Not necessary... people are omnivorous by default.
And since you've mentioned heart disease... Eskimos practically don't have any heart diseases as a result of feeding mostly on fish which are rich in omega-3 and other nutrients that protect cardiovascular system.
I think balancing among all kinds of food is the obvious optimum.

I love the eskimo example of a healthy non vegetarian!
They also dont have to drive on busy highways, go shopping in horrible stores, or work in high stress jobs.
Thats also another reason.
Theres choice in not eating meat. I know veg is generally gentically modified too, but it is labelled better.
