Quote:I found this - "Lemuria entered the lexicon of the Occult through the works of Madame Blavatsky, who claimed in the 1880s to have been shown an ancient, pre-Atlantean Book of Dzyan by the Mahatmas."

The Stanzas of Dzyan are given in Alice A. Bailey's A Treatise on Cosmic Fire (published by Lucis Trust).

I can make out about every fourth word, but if you understand Italian well this video appears to be very interesting.

ECLISSIA - viaggio nel mistero IL LIBRO DI DZYAN

Quote:Seriously, I am so baffled people still fall for this crap. I just learned an interesting fact about Islam today, something called the triple talaq. According to this tradition, an Islamic man can divorce his wife by saying "talaq" or "I divorce you" three times in a row! Abracadabra, now we aren't married in the eyes of God!

Please, please, critically examine your own beliefs. Put them up against something and just objectively look at them, please. Please!

Mythology is fun. People have made up some great stories about some really interesting "divinely"-inspired characters but please don't get carried away. To call Zeus a pagan non-god while accepting any other mythological explanation for an anthropomorphized deity is just as silly, no? Please. Please, please think about it. Just think about it. Please.

BELIEF - even for those in the science field, seems to be in our make-up. Can evolutionist explain it? No other animal has it. And to reject it, is a sentiment that one aquires. One has to reason "belief" out of himself. If there's any inherent character trait, it's to pursue the idea of GOD. Out of the blue, no other animal will sit, wonder and contemplate GOD. Evolutionist (atheist & agnostics) can't explain it, they try to make since of evolution, with tons of reasoning. Well, give me the reason evolution would give the Human character the trait to search for GOD!?!? Because it's in us, so why? Say what you want about ANY record speaking about GOD (bible, torah, quran, etc), why is it in us to commit to the pursuit??? Since man jumped on the scene, he's done some act of worship, WHY!!!!!
One reason the war against racism (and sexism) cannot be won is that once a group is admitted to the club of &being white,& or being allowed, in the case of sexism, to use &the flawed white male model,& it already has learned all too well how to play the role of being superior to those still remaining outside those exclusive clubs. The real problem is that the illicit rewards, both tangible and intangible, in a racist and/or sexist society are so enormous that there is hardly any incentive to do otherwise.&

Quote:I think there are three main triggers for this click:
I - fear of death
II - need to be something special, chosen
III - resignation on absurdity of universe

To take religion away from someone, you first need to take away those three things. A person's spirit can't survive without a purpose, with a feeling he is nothing but a random event, with knowledge he will die and be forever dead. We all need to fill those gaps in one way or another, be it religion or humanism or whatever...

Religion will always be around in one way or another, it's deeply programmed inside us, as a protection from mind-blowing-scary questions... It was developed with us thru evolution and it's so deeply rooted in our self I hardly believe we could do without it.

Yes, atheists are not without religion. Without religion are people who admit they really know nothing and accept the absurdity of situation they are in. I guess the number of such people is 0 at the time:crazy:

What I wanted to say is: religion will always be around no matter how ridicolous it is. It's a part of us.
Why is it a part of our nature is another question...
You're absolutely right with those three main triggers. And that atheists are not without religion, very well put. Thinking of atheism, there always comes Albert Camus to my mind. He was (as far as I can judge from the books I have read from him) a true atheist, or at least trying hard to be one. So it is no wonder that he did write much about trigger III: about the absurdity of life. That seemed to be his main theme across many of his works.
I am my savior

Yes! Camus was a genius, and not did he only put the philosophy of absurdism into words, he actually lived the idea, free as a bird, living for the moment, knowing he didn't know anything, and even if he did it was completely irrelevant and unimportant. Yet he still had his pack of ideas, "truths" and morals... Call it religion if you want. I honestly believe man cannot live without religion in one form or another, without risking his sanity.

I really suggest everyone Camus' Stranger... It's a very inspiring book.
One day Chuang Tzu and a friend were walking by a river. &Look at the fish
swimming about,& said Chuang Tzu, &They are really enjoying themselves.&

&You are not a fish,& replied the friend, &So you can't truly know that they
are enjoying themselves.&

&You are not me,& said Chuang Tzu. &So how do you know that I do not
know that the fish are enjoying themselves?&

The ego always needs to feel superior, people can't accept their animal heritage designed to survive and perpetuate the specie, that's where religion comes in, posing itself the saviour from bestiality, no wonder the antichrist is also called The Beast.

People can accept anything if it makes them feel superior to animals: persecutions of homosexuals , artificial monogamous marriage, ...

Religion is an intresting subject to study, it incorporate so mush mind-fucks it is guaranteed to last for centuries to come, like the concept of satan tempting people, eternity after death, end of times, prophecies, ' true believers', etc... every one of those are essential and are present in every organized religion.

My guesses to those unanswerable questions are as good as anyone's and I have my fair share of assumptions, but unlike what religion demands, I don't hold them as absolute truth nor put them above logic and reason.

IMO, no answer at all to life is better than believing in foolish stories about god/gods that are clearly the imagination of men.
&To be GOVERNED is to be kept in sight, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right, nor the wisdom, nor the virtue to do so...& - Pierre-Joseph Proudhon

&In the Middle Ages, they took the name of serfs; nowadays, they are called wage earners.& Mikhail Bakunin

Quote:Without even addressing the foolishness of accepting the authorship of Man as the word of God.

I blv it 2b divinely inspired.

Quote:Edit: IOW, how exactly do share any relationship with God? How do you know his needs/desires?

I don't think God needs anything from me when He created the entire universe with the first few words of... Let there be...

Quote:How did you come to the conclusion you are following the desires of God? How did you come to the conclusion God is what you think he is? In what way has God validated your beliefs? How do you know any more about the subject than I do?

I lack a lot of love in my heart as well as forgiveness so I'm not all that sure I am following His desires.
I wish I followed them better TBH.
To answer the remaining questions directly quoted above, He REVEALED Himself to me. That is to say, I opened my heart to the possibility, prayed that if He existed to let me know He did, and He did. It was at that point I ceased being spiritually dead, which is why I know more about Him than you do and why I will always stick to my guns regarding Him.

Have you ever wondered why it is Christians seem so steadfast in their beliefs?
It would be FAR easier to go through life without the all the mocking, the insults, the accusations of being retarded or brainwashed. So why not just go with the flow? I'll tell you why. The reason is because, if you SINCERELY SEEK to know him with AN OPEN HEART, the experience is so profound, so undescribable when He reveals Himself, you simply cannot ignore it. That is why I shall always believe in God and His Son Jesus no matter who thinks I'm nuts.

Ask RCS, I bet he gives you much the same answer.
