it implies that everyone is turning idiots because of smartphones, and not connecting and having experiences with others.
i don't like the dramatic way that the video deal with this subject. as if all the problems of the world would go away if people "look up"

the world and the interpersonal relationships are so much confusing and complex than this in my opinion.
the smartphones are not a problem.

well, just my opinion here Smile

I don't know, people are becoming slaves to technology and it impacts personal human relationships. Having said that smartphones don't make people idiots, people are idiots for other reasons. It's the fact that people are idiots that they can be easily manipulated into consuming virtual relationships like they consume other material objects.

The I phone, I pad, I, I, I, me, myself on facebook syndrome appeals to our narcissistic tendencies, and greedy telecommunication corporations know this and suck people into addictive behaviors and bad social habits. How many times have I been talking to someone only to have them interrupt our conversation to go look at their smartphone. They trade a real live conversation with a real live human for a virtual conversation on a digital screen. I find this terribly rude and disturbing. These same people seem to suffer of a serious lack of concentration. It's difficult for them to keep their focus because they are constantly shifting their attention from one social media to the next addicted to the constant pouring of information and demands on their ego. As if they are so important that the world would stop turning if they unplugged for a few hours. And let's not forget how spam mail and unsolicited publicity and marketing fills these virtual airwave. It add to the brainwash, as if there wasn't enough already.

In my opinion, over stimulation, over entertainment, over consumption of virtual babbling is physically, mentally, spiritually, and socially unhealthy. It's another form of slavery, as if we've already haven't been enslaved enough.
