Video Merging and Cutting Tools - FastTadpole - 01-02-2010

Looking to find some better merging and cutting tools. Thought I would ask here first. Any suggestions on friendly programs that play nicely on a Windows or Linux OS?

Have you checked out http://www.any-video-converter.com/products/for_video_free ?

Yes and I have used it but there is a problem if you are merging vids that have different frame rates and it messed up the audio sync when I merged up a TubeRIP I upped on ConCen. I have also tried encoding clips straight from The KMPlayer. I'm passively looking for something better.

Surely someone here knows of some top notch (or decent and free) merging, clipping and ripping tools?!

I'm also on the prowl for good site ripping software preferably to HTML and PDF formats. Suggestions appreciated.

If anyone has a program that works for audio files and doesn't take forever to re-encode them that would be appreciated as well.

Audacity works good for me + it's cross-platform freeware.

I'm pretty sure that audacity is only for audio... Switch is for audio in windows, it's free, and it works very quickly

avidemux is great for video in linux - barely anything you can't do, and free 4 ever!

in linux mint you can find it easily and have it auto-install through "software manager" - no package manager or terminal use necessary.

If you've got questions, PM me.

I have used Avid on Apples for some video projects and it's outstanding.

h3rm35, is the software you mention from Avid?

Audio format conversion - Switch is paying [edit: free for domestic only use], consider harnessing the power of FFmpeg in an elegantly small GUI (Windows and Linux) by using WinFF.
