Gaza blacked out yet again

The power plant was also shut down for two days in January due to another fuel shortage caused by Israel.

Gaza has been suffering from a lack of fuel due to Israeli imposed sanctions on imports to the territory, as well as a strike by fuel importers, who are protesting the Israeli measures.

The shortages have also interrupted food aid deliveries by the United Nations.

Israel has sealed off the impoverished coastal strip since Hamas seized power 11 months ago after being banished from government, following a stunning victory over the Palestine Liberation Organization's Fatah faction headed by Palestine Authority chief Mahmoud Abbas.
