Barak: Hezbollah has 42,000 missiles

The Israeli war minister, Ehud Barak, speaking in Tel Aviv said, "Hezbollah was created as a result of Israel's invasion of Lebanon in 1982. In fact, it was established when we were in Lebanon and now it is equipped with more than 42,000 long-range missiles capable of reaching Dimona and Yeruham from Beirut," Press TV's Beirut Bureau reported.

The southern town of Dimona is home to a reactor that is the centerpiece of the Zionist regime's illegal nuclear weapons program. The regime began developing a nuclear reactor in Dimona in the 1950s.

The Zionist regime is reportedly the only nuclear-armed country in the Middle East and has consistently refused to sign the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT).

Barak also slammed the government's conduct during Israel's 33-day War against Lebanon in the summer of 2006. In January, the Israeli Winograd Commission confirmed Israel's defeat in their invasion.

The Zionist war minister defended his own decision to withdraw Israeli forces from Lebanon in 2000, saying it was "mistaken" to believe the withdrawal made Hezbollah stronger.
