Poll: Should the tracker be members only?

I am agonising over the fact that since the tracker is now open for downloads by anybody, there will be many leechers.

Also, external torrents are allowed, basically turning it into a dump site for any manner of torrents tracked elsewhere.

In other words, I'm using a private tracker as a public tracker, and it required tweaking to do it. A lot of the features are now not being used.

I need input from you guys as to where it should go.

Personally I'm in favour of a private tracker - it makes for a tighter community of people who know each other better, and will make the comment section more lively.

Anyone can sign up for free. Torrents with other trackers can be uploaded, but anyone using that torrent would have to log in to use this tracker.

Why the fuck am I even bothering?

I've spent every spare waking hour going into a third day now tweaking the new software so it will actually do what the hell it's supposed to do, on my own server, when I could probably be doing something for someone who gives a shit.

well, i was that one response, and am grateful for all your effort Yeti,
i think with a little patience there will be more folks offering their take on it.
I've been gathering up some hard to find things to upload this weekend,
and think the new tracker is coming along great,.. love the options and all black skin.

I just saw this as I have been trying to take a little mental break. Here's my thoughts on things.

I think anyone should be able to download. Members only should be able to upload.
If the 2 different tracker URLs are to be kept seperate, perhaps one can be made more for members of ConCen with a little more strict guidelines and the other can be more of a dump tracker where more stuff goes. I don't want Hollywood and crap like that winding up on here. This is about info not entertainment.

I think external trackers can be allowed but only in combination with the ConCen tracker.

I'd also like to encourage those that download to come discuss what they have seen on the forum side. Seems like in the past that never happened. Maybe we could put the forum link on the tracker pages or something else that makes it easier for folks to have an in depth discussion of tracker files. Comments are a good start, but they don't usually qualify as anything more than name calling. LOL

Im with you on that one. I think the tracker is a good place to attract more traffic to the forums...it is a bit odd that theyre so seperated. With the amount of tracker users, it would seem there should be way more people on the forum. I guess there are a bunch of lurkers...I know I was for a lil while when I 1st signed on CC.

Fuck it.

I've been busting my balls for 5 days now, and can't even get a hold of Ctrl about a myriad of issues.

This TorrentTrader software sucks. I'm sick of it and sick of the almost total lack of response by most of the people here about the core issues.

The new tracker shouldn't have been announced until I had a chance to test it out anyway, but I guess I had no say in the matter.

I'm redirecting tracker.conspiracycentral.net back to conspiracycentral.net:6969 if I don't get a response from Ctrl within 24 hours of this post.

Thanks to all who helped test out this POS software with me. Your efforts are appreciated by me at least. I can't say the same for the lamers...

FUCK I did alot of stuff and I just now got connected,just let it go on its own for awhile,DO NOT trash it yet,I put up torrents of all kinds w/the announce without it with images without.I didn't want to do a whole lot of descriptions just because of something like this but people were whining calling me lazy so I did a whole bunch using images and unlimited characters for the text.so just give it time

What good would giving it more time do?

I appreciate your efforts more than most, but I'm not going to waste any more of my time on crap software.

As I said above, this tracker never should have been announced until most if not all of the bugs were worked out.

The jerk who was whining is typical of some of the assholes around here who think the fucking world works for them - take, take, take and nothing but bitching in return...

Don't worry, your work is not in vain.
