- A protester threw a shoe at the IMF director at the end of a question-and-answer session Thursday at a university in Istanbul.

Security officers stopped the man when he rushed toward the stage at Bilgi University, where Dominique Strauss-Kahn had been giving a lecture.

Other demonstrators unfurled a banner and chanted "go away IMF, you're stealing money," said Gillian Morris, a CNN intern who attended the session and witnessed the incident. Turkish security officers dragged the protesters out of the assembly hall.

Strauss-Kahn, who joked about the incident afterward, was not hit.

The head of the International Monetary Fund is visiting Istanbul ahead of a World Bank/IMF conference scheduled for next week.

Glad to see people across the globe know what's going on.we need more people to join in and make so much noise across the earth and show them we stand together all across the globe.Would be nice but I not holding my breath.I guess the manipulation is to much for most to break through.I wish more people would wake up to this.We need more people and we just aren't getting the numbers we need.The net reaches the people that look but for the masses we need to over come the Tv.If any members here live in the Us to night when it gets dark go for a drive around the neighbourhoods and see how many house have this box flickering away on there shades and curtians.it's almost every house.Dam scary

what is the imf, where did it come from, who gave it any authority ?

i heard they put 400 tons of gold up for sale recently. They apparently have 3200 or so tons of gold... that they have extorted from the rest of the world ?

why would anyone give their gold to the IMF ? anyone know ?
