To Believe or Not to Believe?
I do not wish to offend any person on this forum.
Do I believe god exists? Simple truth is I really don't know! I try to keep my beliefs to a minimum, such as placing faith in my family and close friends whom i know well. Why so scarce on faith and belief? When you are a believer, it is an automatic admition that you do NOT know, because a believer is not a knower. So how can one argue so adamantly that they know the truth, when in reality, they only think or believe they know the truth? This applies to the non-believers as well. No-one talked me out of religion, I was born a greek orthodox, so I was heavily indoctrinated from young. I simply left the faithful flock because it just did not make sense to me anymore. And the old adage of 'god works in mysterious ways' just didn't cut it for me. (Babylon also works in mysterious ways - mystery religion) Faith and belief to me are synonymous with superstitions. Children believe in santa clause, the tooth fairy, easter bunny, dracula etc. Children will believe whatever you tell them when they're young. When they grow up, they either work it out for themselves or are told that it was all just stories. This is the easiest and most powerful way to manipulate another human being. You could manipulate by intimidation or coerce someone, but this is not as ideal or effective as planting a belief system. Once you implant a belief in someone, they then police themselves and autonomously do that which you have taught them to do. Beats coercion and force that's for sure. I prefer rather to question everything, which is a no-no for all the major religions. You are not allowed to question, you must believe. This is a red flag to those who still posses critical thinking. Most of the christian peoples were terrorised into accepting their faith, just like the jews and their torah, and just like the muslims on the end of Mohammad’s sword. The choice was simple, join the flock and repeat after me with fervour, or die. I prefer rather to use reason and logic rather than faith and belief. Look how easily the politicians use people’s faith and belief in their election promises to lie to us, again and again. |

To Believe or Not to Believe?
My boy's getting a head start. No santa, no easter bunny etc.
I doubt he'll miss them seeing as he's not getting brainwashed with it all in the first place Essentially he's growing up awake. A faith sometimes can help some people in some amazing ways *shrugs* |
