Buy a money order and send it by snail mail or email it from your bank account.

Hard to vote for more money when I can't give more than I do, less this year than last.

I thought prices were lower than that, as someone mentioned.
But switching servers can be quite a chore.

As an European, I think you should CHARGE "donations" for the amount users download, for example:

3Gb->$8; 10Gb->$16; 25Gb->$20, going up etc.

WE, the users, must take the responsability: if you, the user, say that you cannot afford but you have a job, then work HARDER and get the money; if you have no job, QUALIFY yourself, be tough with yourself, and get a job in anything, in any part of the world, but behave like an adult, and GIVE!

OK, I don't speak much here but I do use the tracker often and have done so since the old days of Conspiracy Central and CTRL. I agree with londres that we need to take responsibility but I don't agree with his methods. His plan seems a bit steep in the $$$ department. I also don't like advertising and think that should be considered as a last resort option.

Here's what I see as workable. The tracker has been free to use and it's been a very nice place to get some real good stuff. But the reality is this; it costs $$$ monthly to keep it going and depends solely on donations. How many people are members? Hundreds? Thousands? I don't see a subscription service at say $1.00 per month as a great burden for unlimited access. That's only $12.00 a year and darn well worth it too. You have 150 subscribers and you'll have your $150.00 covered for a year. Have 220 subscribers and you'll have enough $$$ to seed from the server and provide FTP service. I could see this "subscription" as a two tiered plan. Subscribe for the year and pay your $1.00 per month for unlimited access, or, choose a free option with a limited access.

I would be willing to subscribe for unlimited service at that reasonable rate and I'm betting others would be willing as well. The free option will assure that everyone will still have access too.

Subscribers just set up auto pay in their PayPal accounts and there's no more depending on donations.

Just my 42 cents worth.

I totally agree. its simple how to find 220usd a month.

2usd membership pr. month. you can pay pr. month or pr. 6 month or pr. year.
bill is now paid for and 95% in here would pay this.

also just get 1 or 2 advertizements in here. done

must be a lot of lack consciousness in here if such a small problem cannot be solved. be creative.

RE: $220 a month unlimited or $150 for 1TB a month?
"Dude, $150($220)/mo for hosting?!"

That's a lot of money for the service, could you not consider a cheaper host ($30-50/mo) as others have suggested?

IMHO, doing anything else would radically change this place (subscriptions, memberships, leech for $, ads, etc). If people are regularly donating and it covers the current costs then why change a good thing. Instead, look for cost savings like cheaper (better?) hosting...

Just my 2c.
