Poll: Should torrents here always have adequate descriptions provided by the uploader?
Yes.
No.
It doesn't matter.

Yes, but we'll only delete it (so someone else can upload it) if the owner fails to provide a description within say 24 hours, and only if there are no comments or swarm members. Even then it's probably best to just correct their errors and disable their ability to upload if they are chronic crap description writers.

Sound fair?

RE: Torrents and their descriptions.
Well, it's unbanned now, seems as it's now us moderators job to provide description for people who feel the info is important enough to upload while failing to add a simply copy and paste description.

But then, that's today's world, minimal effort put in, and of course to most, that's fine. To me, it's minimal effort.

Users now, rather than getting a "banned" torrent, will instead be monitored for repeat offending and may have their uploading privileges taken if the behaviour continues.

I am gathering us moderators, as well as now having the job of looking for descriptions now, and having to add them to torrents, now have to keep tabs on the torrents we can't find descriptions for in case the uploader doesn't add a description within 24 hrs of a request to do so. And of course we now have more PM's to send re: descriptions when there's an issue.

I'd argue that the former plan was better, as 95% of users would have it sorted within the hour and the problem resolved.

It is a fairly simple rule to go by...if you want it on the tracker, tell us what it is. If you don't, it's not allowed until you do. Next people will want to have the option of sending a file to moderators for us to make their torrents for them because they can't be arsed. LOL

RE: Torrents and their descriptions.
I always provided description + nfo, it is not that hard to do, plus i created nfo with that same text. There was one case where i couldn't find anything for a few minutes old Nightly News, but i put that into description, reflecting my shock and dismay. Perhaps it would motivate uploaders if torrents without description are delayed for a bit of time, because of extra processing required. Also they should be aware no description means less people will download and seed it, another fact which is apparently escaping them now.

RE: Torrents and their descriptions.
Torrent posters should abide by the following rules:

- No posting descriptive comments unless they include:
1) Pictures of dancing aardvarks.
2) Inane gibberish (or overused Star Trek quotes).
3) Pledges of allegience to the mass media outlets perpetuating The Real Truth. (Fox News, I'm looking at you, here.)
4) Variations of squash based on season, climate, location and altitude.
5) UFOs 'shopped into the heads of celebrities.

Okay, so only one rule, but there are five parts in there. See? Count them!
