Quantum Computing
I found this article and thought someone else might enjoy itClap

RE: Quantum Computing
Found the same article yesterday and loaded it on my digg feed. Thanks for posting. I wonder how long this has been around in the hands of the "club".

Imagine what they have been doing with it. Cloud computing could achieve the same ends as far as linear processing power given large enough bandwidth but the quantum bit takes this to a whole other level allowing for the base architecture of a bit to be a three dimensional value of the bit state. This allows for computational precision on that very level in a native state that can secede polar numerical constraints and better represent value and probability, absolutely or, when used in comparative formulae relatively in a true multi-dimensional dataset.

Their definition of qubit is a bit analogous let's better define that fundamental component.

Quote:A bit is the basic unit of computer information. Regardless of its physical realization, a bit is always understood to be either a 0 or a 1. An analogy to this is a light switch— with the off position representing 0 and the on position representing 1.

A qubit has some similarities to a classical bit, but is overall very different. Like a bit, a qubit can have two possible values—normally a 0 or a 1. The difference is that whereas a bit must be either 0 or 1, a qubit can be 0, 1, or a superposition of both.

It seems that a qubit can better mimic how the mind works on a quantum level, a boon for networked evolving learning systems like swarming drones, telemarketing, video games*, online social infiltration and all types of tailored reactive social engineering.

RE: Quantum Computing
I've happened across statements by various individuals noting that quantum computing, with exception to a handful of applications, would be no quicker than solid state systems.

However, humans are still in the learning stages of quantum computing. An idea is being meshed out, at the time of my last wandering about, of mixing the two technologies as each is suited to a particular class of operations. The interesting part would be building an interface. A breakdown of results would occur from quantum to solid state, and solid state might introduce noise into the inputs of the quantum system.

The interface might simply be a self contained system, communicating with the quantum and solid state systems and converting data between the two. This way, the other two can simply focus on the tasks they're best suited to, too.

During my various rants on ConCen, I might have mentioned Metal Gear, an alleged CIA sekrit project to monitor social networking sites using an automated personality interactor. One agent can manage many personalities, each of which is assigned grammar, syntax, favoured sites, et cetera. Been rolling the idea around in my head of how I'd go about writing such a beast for a few months now.
