Spam exists big time on ConCen. We are trying to weed it out by requiring a certain number of posts by new members before they are accorded full member status. We are being hammered by bots, hence the 5 post moderation trial.

If you want to get out of moderation, just make five posts.

That particular post (his 4th) above was in moderation as icosaface mentioned. Later on digactivist approached yeti and I to post some books he had for sale we offered help set up a store for him for free and even laid out a few constructive ideas (like providing IBSN numbers and creating a spreadsheet to set up an online store and we exchanged several detailed emails) to get started on it over the but that he couldn't sell books or advertise directly on the site in this case. He posted a thread selling his small collection of (pretty decent) books on the site, which was deleted. Accusations directed at the admin staff ensued via PM that implied that the donations for the new dev box wasn't above board.

Somewhere along the lines of the conversation it became clear that the trite opposition emanating from his dialogue was not a good fit for ConCen so steps were taken to remove him from the community.

So no it wasn't the post above in particular, and although he offered up some material to the tracker he was more trouble than he was worth. That was the consensus on it among us mods in a judgment call, decisions we make to keep a little semblance in the community.

You are free to petition to have him back if enough members feel contrary to the decision made by the moderation staff and we'll review the matter given adequate support, as we always will.

I wondered because he posted some good material here. If as you explained he was trying to use this site to sell his books then that's completely innapropiate.
May he learn from this.

Of course not, although his baseless accusations did not help.

What got him banned was the PM he sent me riddled with insults because I dared to remove his post advertising his books. I don't take kindly to being called an idiot, etc. for telling him that if we allowed him to sell things, we'd have to allow others, which would turn us into hypocrites for blocking spammers. This is after I offered to help him set up a site elsewhere, for free.

Individuals who are quick to anger and insult can be an ongoing tax on the good will of participants in our "caring and sharing" community of like minded obsequious herd animals, that being said, I trust our moderators to judge when someone crosses the line and in this case it sounds like a failed attempt at bullying which backfired and produced a predictable (and when the need arises again) repeatable result.
Our shepherds will protect us if our own restraint fails, the shades of grey meaning which can illuminate and grant perspective on a subject are not likely to be lost when such subtlety is applied sparingly ...
As my father maintained, "when you insist you are completely correct, you are likely wrong" <at least partially>
Diversity and tolerance makes for a much more interesting read.
