"Facts & Figures about Speeding
Speed Cameras Dot Org 2003 Data" hmmm cant think where thier bias may be....... "Proof that speed cameras do not save lives has been revealed by the Mail on Sunday" speed cameras have never broken even, never mind turn a profit. speed cameras dont prevent people from driving like dicks. it only catches them when they do. All this propaganda doesnt do anything to stop big brother. Its a rather pathetic attempt to foil speeding fines. Any excuse. I dont drive so i have nothing to lose or gain in this. To be frank. the car driver is a selfish beast. Once in a car a person changes. Too many people think owning a car means the road comes with the package. |

RE: speed camera that checks insurance, Tax and if your wearing a seltbelt
Tell me about it. It's a cash grab. People say they have all sorts of freedom of the open road with a car, and I could see that if someone were to take a pimped out VW Bus cross country on a road trip or maybe a motorcycle - weather permitting. But we have the slavery in building and keeping up roads, bridges, lights, signs, insurance, insurance, parking spots, car repairs, toll booths, ID, fuel, maintenance, policing, courts not to mention all the injury and death associated with it.
If we put 1% of that effort and fiat into public transportation we'd probably have fucking telporters by now. Then there are car thefts and it's not even your car it's registered to the state leaving you open to search and seizure, blood tests, DNA samples, speed traps and breathalizers. It's only licenced to the 'owner'. Leasing? You got interest on top of your purchase price. Going green? We're all paying for it by force no matter what the price tag is since it is subsidized. Biofuel (corn, soy, algae, jarthopa, pig fat ..), batteries (2.4 Billion in R&D last year) and EVs. The rules of the road. Social obedience programming at it's finest. Signs that tell you what to do, cameras snapping photos of you (now in glorious 3D), almost everyone looking straight ahead while they are stacked side by side. Cars use ~15% of their energy losing a lot of it to heat. Cars are still employing basically the same combustion engine from the early 1900s. Cars have been romanticized as a sales tool. Plugged as a status symbol for having a certain hood ornament. How many cars does corporate media whore Jay Leno have anyways now? Cars might help some people get laid. Not all folks though. Some are beyond the process and might have a cardiac event if it was even attempted. You see those 300+ pound lumps of human oozing out of their power windows lustily extending their chubby Grimace arms towards the Taco Bell drive thru windows to grab their 6 layer burritos. What if they walked or pedalled or walked just a fraction the time? Maybe they would drop a chin or three? .. and for the record I am not a hypocrite. I ride a bike, bus, lrt or walk for my transpo 24/7/365. I'll pass on the 'random' stops, the poverty, the stress and the road rage. I really dig weaving in and out of cars downtown during gridlock hour winking at the dogs panting out the window and waving to the children doped up on Gravol. Want to fight the NWO? You have to stop feeding it first ditch your overpriced chariot and stop being a slave to it. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

RE: speed camera that checks insurance, Tax and if your wearing a seltbelt
nah i suggest keeping your chariot!
just have the spare parts you need and don't buy after 1986. or if mechanically inclined design and build an alternative powertrain I have a friend with a firefly that runs on electric motors, and he hasn't bought gas since the late 80's. Insurance is the only thing i'm in agreement is a shake down, in some places it's more to insure/per year then the car is worth! and as the gov says you MUST have it... ![]() Having a personal vehicle even if you don't use it could be the difference between surviving some relocation or natural disaster. I have 3 and only occasionally drive one as I do most of my day to day with in 10 blocks of home or I use the wife's modern green car. Problem with most transit is it's inconvenient unclean, and not very secure. To make it more attractive it needs to be self supporting, and consistent 24/7. To eliminate cost a good idea would to follow Japan's idea with fully automated transport, subways and such have no driver/ labor cost. & if they were electric and every station was some sort of power plant feeding both the vehicles, and the local grid then it would be a possibility. Former high paying driver jobs would be replaced by cleaning staff, and security, in a secure site such as in a designated station, and have every car camera'd (as if there not now )Of course even if all this happened I still suggest keeping a back up mode of transportation, I mean as long as you have human drivers and maintenance workers (they will always be needed to maintain the machines) you can have strikes, In my city they have a habit of striking every 3-4 years around x-mas for 2-5 months... Just another reason I'm glad I have my own ride, thought I can agree that if your a lone person a 2-4-1 would be more advisable then a Hummer, but like mentioned it's a status thing I guess, though quality does come into play a bit I'm sure as a 4x4 is far more durable and useful then a Hyundai accent, so depending on how you use your ride... Of Course if the government tried to mandate what vehicles folks could own based on there family size and work, the pillars of freedom would march in the streets, frankly i feel what obama and harper should have done when bailing out the auto industry is forced them to only make hybrids and cars under x pounds in weight for personal sale, and limit the foreign companies from importing anything that doesn't apply. Get us off the oil sucking enviro killing tit. As for the nature of this post in Canada (I've been to most of it) moat provinces have some form of electronic traffic cops integrated into there system, personally only Albt's is so rampant, with not only hidden side of road ones but interrogated into traffic lights and lamp posts, they go after it all like mentioned above (not including ins). Funny personal story but once while lost while working out there in Stony Plain I picked up 9 tickets in a 10 min period in one intersection as I had to keep going through it to get to where I was going But Ont seems to only have red light camera's which have lowered accidents in key intersections, the problem with the listed above stories is these cops r using it as a cash grab cause the onus to support themselves has been transferred down to them through repeated cut back in revenue, I have heard of states which impound upper and nicer cars and then use them as cruisers afterward. The ins checking thing, and the 3d camera is really what should be on concern as would it not also be able to see into the trunk, or through tinted windows, what if they system is real time? Wouldn't it be very police state-ish if they could turn your car off via OnStar and lock you in till they came to get you! The key is independence from the parasites. Cars are set up to make you sign up for system.
You can distance yourself from it to a point by fixing your own but you still need to register it if you want to drive on state roads. OnStar / Tracking devices on cars are akin to cell phones -- Enemy of the State style tracking and carnivore databasing of your movements. Forgot to mention that aspect above. I don't have a cell phone either. The price is too high. Too many compromises in getting a car. There are no others, there is only us. http://FastTadpole.com/ |

RE: speed camera that checks insurance, Tax and if your wearing a seltbelt
today you only need to registrar it if you want to... but with these camera's it will be mandatory as they will know if you are by you simply driving by. Though if your in the country a car is required and i doubt any here would advise us all to live in urban centers> Would anyone?
