and we wonder why universal healthcare is a priority...
![]() Friendly's Burger Has Grilled Cheese Sandwiches For Buns By Ben Popken on June 21, 2010 3:00 PM 0 views Yes, the latest assault on America's waistline comes in the form of Friendly's recently launched Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt. Move over, Double Down, there's a new "something with far more calories than bread as a bun" sandwich in town. Friendly's gastronomical innovation is not without precedent. The Grilled Cheese BurgerMelt appears to be inspired by similar "Fatty Melts" and "Chubby Melts" that have been served in the South for a few years now (source), as well as the Midwest. What's the nutritional content of the culinary monstrosity? According to the Friendly's site (PDF): 1500 Calories 870 Fat Calories 79g Total Fat 38g Saturated Fat 180g Cholesterol 2090mg Sodium 101g Carbs 9g Dietary Fiber 4g Sugar 54g Protein Deana, who sent it in, says, "BRB, dry heaving." Consumerist's Laura says, "I love grilled cheeses. This is terrifying." Friendly's Big Beef Burgers [Friendly's]

Strangely, this made me both hungry and nauseous.

damn nice break down as to nutrition, but what f a chem break down....
processed cheese enriched flour gen modified and heavily processed meat (if from animals @ all) pesticide sprayed and modified vegitation... then if you can get out your chem kit i'm sure you could find a few toxin's in it, think only one a week how much toxin's you got in you by years end... calories and salts r'n the enemy if your very active and burn them off it's the chems inside and laziness that r the real threat with such foods... though i'm sure it's tasty and were i baked and munching i'd prob eat one ... damn my weak munchie reflex Remember Knowledge is the only thing THEY can't take from you, and Knowledge is Know how, and Know how is Power!!! as a veggie for the last 12+ years I can't stand hearing about this shit. It amazes me that people are willing to eat it... The double down may be less nutritionally hideous, but it still sickens me more. The chicken industry to me is far more disturbing, considering the fact that the USDA and FDA treat fowl as any agricultural product instead of livestock, removing them from animal cruelty standards, which are grossly inadequate to begin with.

RE: and we wonder why universal healthcare is a priority...
In most cases they haven't been born without them, they've been removed w/ no anesthetic. Haven't heard about the lack of eyes though, that's a new one for me.
I'm not trying to be a veggie evangelist here, just sharing my views... I don't ry to convert people - they can eat whatever shit they want. I do, however make a point of trying to inform people from time to time of the industry that they support through their food choice. In a society that allows me to stay healthy without killing critters, I just don't see any reason why I should contribute to the atrocities that have been perpetrated in the name of industrial meat production. my conscience won't allow it. Post industrial society, things very well may change, but I think I'm better off waiting until then. I do know how to hunt, trap skin and cook game, and have done so during my early life. I think they're important skills to know.
