A Popo Tale
”Policemen so cherish their status as keepers of the peace and protectors of the public that
they have occasionally been known to beat to death those citizens or groups who question that status.” Those who work to uphold the law––the police––are among the most brainwashed people you can find, simply because they uphold the very system that keeps both us and them as slaves. The police are meant to protect their citizens, but in reality, people fear them. Not only are the police not helpful, but they are rude, they demean people, and they act as if they are above the law. But more importantly: they are violent (this is naturally a stereotypical view on an entire profession, but a view that has proven to be true, over and over again). The police––or anyone else with authority to use violence––have been known for their brutal and violent ways of dealing with “criminals”. A lot of police brutality occurs at political protests, in relation to the war on drugs, and, of course, when dealing with the teenage punk who likes to flip them the bird. And let’s not forget the way the police acted during Prohibition (of alcohol) in the USA in the 1920s and 1930s. Since there’s no reason for making drugs and alcohol illegal in the first place, the violence is not only unnecessarily brutal, but occurs when there isn’t even a real crime taking place. Police mentality works much like religion––“Those who are not with us are against us and must therefore be punished or converted”. The biggest problem with the police is that they always accept every law that is passed without questioning its relevance. They never demonstrate any critical thinking when it comes to the laws they enforce. If politicians would make it illegal to wear glasses, it wouldn’t take long until we would see policemen beating the living shit out of nerds during Star Trek conventions. The law is their religion; the law book is their bible. The police will protect the law, no matter how absurd or oppressive it is. Those who apply to the police academies are sadists who never have gotten the chance to exercise their deepest cravings for power and domination over others. Thus, the profession of being a cop provides them with all of their desire for sadistic power. They are even backed up by their own government so that their every action is morally approved. The police might say that they want to protect and help, but what they really want is to surrender to a higher power which gives them permission to act out their violent urges. Let’s not forget that just like everybody else, cops have their own prejudices and distorted reality tunnels; some are racists, some are homophobic, and some want revenge against the world for having a shitty life. It’s always the weak-willed who need to be authoritative and violent in order to “prove” to themselves that they are tough guys. The police work for the government, and, just like the government, the police are oppressive. Why is it that the government has the full right to protect its own interests with both a police force and an entire army, while there’s no one to protect the rights of the individual? If the government has its own police force to harass civilians, shouldn’t citizens get to have their own militia to investigate the government’s every move? The state has monopolized violence by using both the police and the military. As long as the violence and murdering comes from the state, it can be justified, but if it comes from an individual defending his or her rights, he/she will be thrown in jail or beaten down. How great it would be if the militia could read unofficial emails and stop secret governmental plans. The militia would havethe full right to investigate every aspect of the government, as well as question every decision made. The militia would investigate where the tax money really goes, and stop the legislation of oppressive laws that don’t make any sense. If a state leader gets bored and decides to start a war, the militia would put a rifle in his hands and a helmet on his head and unapologetically send him away to fight his own bloody war. While the governments use the police for control, power, and protection of their own interests, there’s nothing and no one who protects the citizens from their governments. Civil disobedience is punished and silenced as quickly as possible, and labeled as anti-(insert country name here) in order to discredit the rebellion as being immature regression. Thus, no form of civil disobedience is ever looked upon as heroic until decades upon decades have passed. The rebels are always despised in the present but praised in the history books. It seems a bit odd to place lethal weapons in the hands of those who are meant to protect us but instead only want to express their imagined superiority over us. The police are armed to their teeth with nightsticks, mace, handcuffs, and even lethal weapons such as hand guns or shotguns. Some form of protection is needed, I agree. But I have never in my entire life been helped by the police, and yet I’m forced to pay for their “services” through taxes. Furthermore, being helped by someone who protects a corrupt system doesn’t really sound too tempting. To better understand the dangers of having a police state, let’s look at how history is repeating itself. In Germany in 1933, before World War 2 broke out, the Nazi regime created a police force specializing in dealing with potential threats to the state. In reality, they spied on their own citizens in order to find Jews, Homosexuals, rebels, freethinkers, etc., and execute them. They started by recruiting ordinary policemen into their new elite police force and created a special police force called the Gestapo. As long as the Gestapo followed the directives from their superiors––the state––they were considered to be acting according to the law. Imprisonment without trial, torture, and execution of “prisoners” was encouraged. Just like modern day police blindly accept all state laws, so did the Gestapo follow their instructions without asking any questions. The orders did, after all, come from the government, and who dares to question them anyway (not the police, that’s for sure). They were privileged––the finest of the police–– and questioning the government would not be appropriate or accepted. The inexcusable murdering was called Schutzhaft––security defense––and did not by any means reflect what was really happening (are you starting to see any resemblance to how fancy words like “security” is/was used to disguise reality?) Skip to the present time and we can find the exact same thing happening in more than one place. Once more, pretty patriotic words are used to disguise the reality and delude those who cannot see what is really going on. The terrorist attack on 9/11 came as a blessing for the US government since it became a great excuse for them to increase their influence and maximize security. Just a little more than a month after the 9/11 attack, the PATRIOT act was legislated and signed by George Bush, giving the nation a “right” to act much like the Gestapo did during World War 2. It wasn’t just the USA that benefited from the terror attack. Other super powers as well could, with public approval, tighten their security measures and increase their own power by simply referring to 9/11 or saying that magical word “terrorist”. Like children scared by the boogieman at night, adults have become paranoid wrecks who see terrorists at every street corner. No one seems to be bothered by the fact that the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq have claimed far more lives than 9/11 did. Media hysteria has done a great job of fueling the paranoia. Portable parachutes, gas masks, radiation suits, and all kinds of equipment for the preparation of an apocalypse can be bought. The members of the public swallowed it all and soon started to sleep under their beds with baseball bats and flashlights, in case a terrorist would stop by. And why shouldn’t they? Were there not two planes flying straight into the twin towers? Terrorists are real, but not nearly as big a threat as they have been made out to be. If people are interested in finding the real criminals, they need only to look at their own government. Without a police controlled by the state, the obvious question is “How will people be defended from perpetrators?” In a fully libertarian society, everything is privatized: buildings, parks, and even roads. It will be in the interest of the private owners to protect their own property with privatized security guards, or by their own means. These guards will fill the place of the police but will not support any oppressive system of laws. The security guards will protect the interests of the owner in question, and those involved with his property, and only act on their behalf. Those who are in need of help because of a crime can hire and pay for private investigators. A libertarian society will not be a perfect utopia, and no serious libertarian would claim such a thing. Unfortunately, there will always be violence, rape, and murder, as long as humans exist. But a state-less society is the only one in which we can truly call ourselves free. It is interesting to see how governments time and time again have failed miserably with their so-called “protection” plans. Murder and violence still exist despite their Gestapo-police mentality, and yet they refuse to recognize this as a failure on their own part. Why then is police and state oppression forced upon us despite its obvious failure even to prevent violence from taking place. They claim that without a strong government, people would roam the streets with torches, beat each other up, and kill whoever they saw fit to murder. And this comes from those who are responsible for most of the thefts and genocides that have taken place in our history. It is truly odd how deluded politicians are in their reasoning. Some of them truly do believe that total chaos would emerge if they were not there to “protect” us from ourselves. And yet they fail to see that most of the oppressive rules they have in fact create most of the violence. They fail to see that they are the ones who create hostility between nations, by being so obsessed with their nationalistic ideals and their military. They fail to see that it is governments, not citizens, who send thousands of people to their graves by declaring war––for the protection of freedom! They fail to see that they are the ones to blame, not us––the people. Since libertarians oppose the initiation of violence, it might seem difficult, if not impossible, to achieve real freedom. How far can a government really go before we have the right to fight back with force? Most people would probably agree that violence and guerrilla warfare against the Nazi government during the Second World War can be justified. Direct violence was used by the government, and therefore citizens had the full right to fight back by whatever means they saw fit. But what if our rights as human beings are violated by the government without any immediate threat of violence? Some people claim that all governments already have committed violence, or at least violated human rights, and that therefore a counterattack can be justified. But resistance towards oppression can take more forms than mere violence, and if there is no immediate threat of violence from the government, a non-violent approach from our side must be taken. There are several ways to protest against the government, some which have or will be mentioned later on. • Do not vote. No party or political leaders stand for freedom. To vote is to beg for oppression. And the socalled libertarian parties are just an oxymoron. • Do not work. Refuse to slave for the system unless you really need the money or enjoy your line of work. Take whatever money you can get from social welfare, then write an anonymous letter to some politician and explain how much you enjoy your leisure-time. Tell them that for as long as they exist, you will keep enjoying it. • Write. Write to politicians and tell them that you are not satisfied with their governing, and you hope they will resign. Write articles for magazines and newspapers. Write books. Let the government know what you think. • Cheat. As long as you can be sure not to get caught, you should cheat with taxes as much as possible. No government has a right to steal your money or convict you for refusing to be robbed. • Steal. Steal from government establishments such as libraries. Everything controlled by the government has been paid for by you so it’s not really theft, its just taking back what you have already paid for. • Reject the military. Refuse to be conscripted. • Break laws. Laws that don’t make any logical sense, and laws that encroach on human rights should be broken if one so wishes. Sadly, people tend to have the attitude that laws must be followed, regardless of what they mean. Breaking laws is not necessarily bad. Blindly following a set of laws in order to be a “good guy”, is. From the book of: Liberatio X, Unite The Many, defeat the few. RE: A Popo Tale
while I do understand the impetus behind writing this, and generally despise most police officers, I do find this piece particularly narrow-minded.
Quote:The biggest problem with the police is that they always accept every law that is This is blatantly untrue. They're not very big fans of laws that are passed to diminish their powers or check their aggression. They're also at the forefront of lobbying against California's ballot initiative to legalize pot... There are plenty of laws they don't like and flat-out ignore. but most of what this says that pisses me off has nothing to do with cops... "Take whatever money you can get from social welfare, then write an anonymous letter to some politician and explain how much you enjoy your leisure-time. Tell them that for as long as they exist, you will keep enjoying it." I doubt many people that exist solely on social welfare would be enjoying their free time much - it's not as if they give you much money. People on food stamps can barely feed themselves for a moth on what they're given - it's less than $6 a day in most cases. and steal from libraries? WTF! I'd be pretty pissed off if I caught someone intentionally robbing a library - not to say that I haven't ended up with a couple books from a library or two without paying for it, but how fucking selfish can a person be? Oh yeah - a "Libertarian"... I guess they can be as selfish as they want to be. I could go on and on about the stupid shit in this, but what's the point? I'd rather enjoy my leisure-time.

RE: A Popo Tale
Well, I do not agree with everything. But there are some points to consider. Sedition and cops and how in reality many cops do not stand at time for a good cause, raise money for a cause, Haiti, earthquake victims, or even throwing an event to talk to kids about the consequences of gangs, drugs, and so forth... Oh yea, DARE... DARE was nothing about fighting drugs or gangs, it was to database possible gang members or drug dealers, but nothing to do with prevention. Do you have relatives as cops? I would probably defend family in the service as protectors, but they are not protectors, all they do is protect the property of capitalist and not your well being as a whole. Are cops nice to you and smiley when stopping you? most motor cycle cops are not there to protect and be safe, many are there to generate money for the system to hire more cops and not give money away to the needy, victims, or even donate some to the welfare of people. They will generate the money and run with it... How many millions of dollars does the court system make, how much money do lawyers make based on loop holes, circumventing laws? Justice, is there such a good think in America? You know that some of these cops are pretty devilish and do not have your best protections at heart but that of their masters...

We might not agree with all he says, but there are good points on his book. Go to http://www.Scribd.com and look for liberatio. Its free and you can also get other material as well. I agree with you about freedom coming from the mind first because thats what the system targets and is targeting in the present. Hope you like the book. Unite The Many, defeat the few.
