(alchool burning carb back up is also a wise precaution i took for the SBC350. besides that a base tower and your hd's and any other devices you can isolate in storage now in a lead box will keep them safe. if not powered up they should not be affected. just some further wisdom, but as for communication kiss that good bye with EMP issue especially a global one all the phones are sent through tech, not even hard wired is good anymore. so if you and a few friends (over distances) have ham radio's or cb's in protected mode you can still communicate some distances, we have a very shit network now but i'm sure as more happens i have to appreciate how nice the island volcano was to turning people into doing there own research, especially after chilie!
