RE: Dark Side of the Moon Stanley Kubrick
very good doc.
So this pretty much settles it then eh? Kubrick did film the damn thing. "Listen to everyone, read everything, believe nothing unless you can prove it in your own research" ~William Cooper DTTNWO! |

Also check out the ConCen thread (thread at this link) discussing Jay Weidner's article on Kubrick and possible Apollo image fabrication.
The Weidner article itself can be accessed at this link. The Weidner article is quite long, yet it is worth reading in its entirety. Intriguing thesis on the photographic techniques involved ... |

RE: Dark Side of the Moon Stanley Kubrick
The Kubrick piece is a "mockumentary":

The Dark Side film's "mock" presentation was discussed on the "tracker" last year. And yes, it is a "mockumentary". But the Weidner article presents a convincing case for sophisticated "front screen projection" image fabrication in the Apollo films. Did NASA astronauts land on the moon? Perhaps ... Were the Apollo lunar surface films fabricated irregardless of whether the astronauts landed on the moon ... ... or not? According to Weidner the answer is: Probably. Kubrick did develop a sophisticated protocol for "front screen projection" for the film 2001. Besides Weidner, science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke (who co-scripted 2001) has also reported on this sophisticated protocol. Was Kubrick the "subcontractor" to carry out the "image fabrication" for the NASA/military/industrial consortium? Maybe he wasn't the "subcontractor", but perhaps he trained the team that did it. As Weidner points out in his article, there was a lot of NASA/corporate funding for the film 2001. The issue is not whether NASA sent astronauts to the moon or not ... ... the issue may be whether the films for "public consumption" were extensively altered and/or fabricated. Perhaps a dozen years ago, NASA astronaut Brian O'Leary was confronted on the Apollo lunar surface films. He finally admitted that they were probably faked. (And if anyone has the audio clip of this, please post it on the "tracker" !!) O'Leary said that it was just like NASA to "botch" the actual filming while on the moon and then decide to "re-film" the lunar surface films in a studio for public consumption. Kubrick's developed protocol for "front screen projection" would make such studio filming relatively easy. Irregardless of the Dark Side "mockumentary", do check out the Weidner article, at this link for an intriguing "alternate" point of view on the Apollo films. |

RE: Dark Side of the Moon Stanley Kubrick
Mockumentary...? Mock you mentally, is more like it. I dont think its a coincidence that this is made out to be, supposedly, more fake than based on reality.
I actually did read that Weidner website, a long time ago. Thats why this film seemed to ring more truth than fiction. I do agree that a lot of the footage of the supposed moon landing seemed to be in that style of "front screen projection", which Kubrick was known for using.
