Anyone from London?
Hey folks,
I'll need your help here. I'm heading for Paris, leaving from Heathrow air port. Any quick direction or web-links as to how I should proceed. I presume there is transport nearby the ap., but perhaps I would need something like a major train station, in order for me to get into something to Paris. Any ideas, anyone? Gotta happen by train. Thank you! |

i am a bit confused, i am pretty sure you can get off the plane at the airport and get links to anywhere in the country if need be. |

Is this what you're looking for?
There is a rail link from de Gaulle airport which connects directly to the Paris metro system...

Thanks!Heathrow is connected to the London tube system, which connects to the train station which has trains to Paris through the chunnel. Keep in mind that trains from London to Paris can be considerably more expensive than flights... You'll want to take the Eurostar from St. Pancras to Gare du Nord.

Why train only?
If bus/ferry is an option I know for a fact that you can bus it from Heathrow to Dover, ferry to Calais, then bus onto Paris. |

Shoot, you were right. The Eurostar rates are a bit starry for the objective. As a matter of fact, I've never considered going by ferry, it is sort of an exotic traveling to where I come from:)
Can't plane transfer either, I'd like my last id checkpoint to be London. Ctrl made some very good points there. It seems that I shall be aiming at the bus/ ferry. Although it's appearing to get more complicated from what I've initially planned, which will result in timing. Once in Paris I'll have to do another - last transfer to my randevou. Shoot, I'm not much of a french fan. My first experience there didn't go that smoothly :) Im so glad I've started this thread! Thank you everybody for your advices and participation, much appreciated! Next, I'm to play with google maps and try to sort it all. no, nik, all I spread is my loose, sarcastic sense of humor, when I should keep my mouth shut :) |
