California police test out head-mounted cameras
Patrol officers to record every interaction with public amid claims department using force too often during arrests Associated Press, for the Guardian, article from this link December 20, 2009 Police in California are testing head-mounted cameras to record interactions with the public. The test, involving 18 patrol officers, comes as citizens' groups criticise the department for too often using force during arrests. Officers will turn on the cameras every time they talk to anyone. The recordings will be downloaded after every shift. The cameras are the size of a Bluetooth mobile phone earpiece and attach by a headband above the ear. San Jose is the first big US city to try the devices, made by Arizona-based Taser International, which is paying for the experiment. Each kit costs $1,700 (£1,000), plus a $99 per officer monthly fee. That's $4m million department-wide each year. |

RE: California city police testing head mounted cameras ...
![]() The FBI / CIA / MOSSAD likely have much better tech than this already? There are sunglasses that are being worked on in the commercial sector now that allow internet connectivity, biometric scanning, facial recognition, demeanor flagging and links to the big brother database + CCTV networks + Real time GPS. SKYnet version 2.0 IMO. Cameras are so small now that they would be easy to embed anywhere it is just done overtly now to keep the peace , condition the public to being constantly watched and intimidate the masses. They don't even need humans there is robot patrol in development basically spheres that can see and smell that roll around tirelessly trying to collect taxes -- um .. I mean catch criminals. I would assume military and covert agencies have access to this type of tech well in advance of the public as they always have so it would be a good bet that they are utilizing it now. Expect a large influx of material for TV programs like COPS and America's dumbest criminals.
I have one proposal for those opposed .. ![]() Credit: http://www.cafepress.ca/concengear.418848557 .. or the more subtle and classic version:
