A symbol for the saddistic male craving to dominate mother nature via logic.
Literally a vulgar display of power.

It's a symbol of the male, martial power and dominance.

I hate saying it, but I believe he is right. All I can say without going into weird territory is that the obelisk is an extremely ancient symbol and it's representation is pretty clear.

You ever hear those jokes about owning a sports car, especially a dick-shaped British one, being a compensation for something? Well, powerful people really like commemorating themselves in architecture. Specifically any with interest in Freemasonry.

Obelisks are built because the phallus has forever been considered a totem of masculinity, which is always associated with power and control. The obelisk then, is supposed to also be a totem for masculine dominance.

Take the most obvious example, George Washington. George Washington in all likelihood was an innocuous Freemason, like most of them probably are. It is the people who came after him who decided to use "magickal" means to manipulate the memory of George Washington into a sort of useful, fascistic programming meme.

By constructing an enormous phallus, which is through the popular mind associated with a certain individual, it is supposed to inject this totemic thought process subconsciously through projection of "magickal" energy, which can be thought of as force existing because it has been made to exist, conscientiously. That way, regardless of what any specific individual's understanding of George Washington may be, when that individual is observing the obelisk, their mind will be thinking only of dominance and power, be rendered awestruck, and completely subconsciously have their relationship to George Washington changed by nature of this "magickal" artifact.

Now, I have to tell you that I have come to the realization that these people actually believe this, on one level or another, very begrudgingly.

Unfortunately, I have to say, it really appears that this is the sort of belief system many of the extremely wealthy secret rulers of the world hold, almost entirely from being subjected to a system of fraternal, secret organizations from a very young age, where ancient cult mysticism is recycled and reprogrammed into the future administrators of the human animal, maintaining an objective which has lived on largely unchanged throughout manifold centuries.

That being: Create a system which rewards immensely those with the means, connections and technical know-how to make use of the system, while simultaneously creating it byzantine enough that the laymen is restricted fair access from participating in the system.

In this way, people not selected to prosper will not, people who are will. It is remarkably simple really. Create a system for people, with exploits, give away the system, keep the exploits.

As far as magick-dick statues? What can I say? Dunno People will believe anything. Even ultra-wealthy, ultra-powerful, well-educated people.

oddly enough, seems they are illegal:

penii:

1. (nonstandard, proscribed, often ironical) Plural form of penis.

[T]he United States Supreme Court had determined […] that artificial testicles were kosher under this law, but prosthetic penii clearly were not.

Reminds me of the beginning of "Kate and Leopold" where Robling is making his dedication speech about his "Glorious erection" ( The Brooklyn Bridge ).
