UPDATE:MOSELEY BACKS DOWN
Mr. Moseley did indeed respond. I have ammended the correspondance below to reflect the full days discussion. What I will not include was another, but seperate, email in which he copy/pasted a bunch of eyewitness statements from the Pentagon. Odd.. and my reply was simply this.. "Release the Tapes. Simple." But as it appears he was willing to attempt to nail down a time stamp, he has apparently retracted or will retract the statements as evidenced in the above link.

So, being who I am (and having a soft spot for the brave but soft spoken S.Jones) I have of course read the Moseley hit piece in which he inaccurately spun out the following fiction -

"Professor Steven Jones of Brigham-Young University accused George Bush of being a dictator, mimicking the preamble of the Declaration of Independence. When asked if violent revolution was necessary, this scientist declared in front of national TV cameras that there is no peaceful way to achieve the group's goals. In the context of the question, professor Jones was calling for the violent overthrow of the government."

Now I for one am getting more than a little tired of being hammered by these people with deceitful assertions that we did not see what we saw, and did not hear what we heard. I KNOW what I saw on C-Span and I KNOW what I heard. But in order to remove any doubt, I went back and watched the video record end to end making special written note of what questions were posed to Prof.Jones as well as his responses. I can tell you that it is an irrefutable fact of public record that Prof.Jones did not say ANYTHING resembling what Moseley has asserted was spoken by S.Jones.

So I wrote him an email.. guess what.. he responded...

This is a bold faced lie Mr. Moseley. Proffessor Jones never said any such thing. I was watching the C-Span broadcast in question, and in fact, have seen and can provide record of everything Proffessor Jones has ever published or stated as a matter of public record. This is a lie and you are a liar in publishing this nonsense.

Retract the statement and issue a public apology. It is the only honorable resolution.

My statement is accurate.

In response to a question to the panel,whether the group's aims could be achieved through peaceful means, PRofessor Jones repated that Bush is a dictator then mimicked the case in the Declaration of Independence calling for violent revolution against King George, and then answered "no" (there is no peaceful way to achievethe group's goals).

Your statement is not accurate...

...it is in fact a complete fabrication. At no time was such a question posed to Prof. Steven Jones during the C-Span broadcast, which event I assume you are referring when you say " this scientist declared in front of national TV cameras". If this is not the event to which you refer than I would say it seems your work spins to yellow with very little criticism. I can make this statement with utmost confidence because I have just reviewed the entirety of the C-Span broadcast, twice, and at no time did Prof. Steven Jones say anything even closely resembling what you have assigned (although notabley left UNquoted) to him. At no time did he "mimick" the Declaration of Independance, at no time did he refer to King George, at no time did he refer to Bush as a dictator. In fact, the one item that you actually did quote to me in your above response to me is the word "No".... but on complete review, I could not even find a question posed to Prof. Jones in which he replied to any question with that word as an answer....

So. If you would be so kind to directly reference your source for this commentary, I would say thank you.

Mr. Moseley, mistakes are just mistakes and do not always speak to the character of the offender. What marks the measure of a man who has made a mistake is how powerfully they strive to ammend that mistake and how fully they accept their own share of the responsibility for it's commission. Respect is earned in such ways, integrity established. Do not allow this opportunity to prove your metal pass without consequence.

For the third time today, I have reviewed the C-Span broadcast searching for the audio/video record to which your questionable statements refer as actual events. For the third time today I am refuting what you wrote in your article. You asked me to provide for you a link, although why I would need to do your research for you seems a question with obvious implications leaning toward the reasonable assumption of ineptitude.
