Jews participated in a protest sponsored by the Central Rabbinical
Congress outside the "Israeli" consulate on 2nd avenue in New York City.

Ok, I am the party basher so I am just going to go for it.

Those "torah" jews are against the state of Israel not because of the atrocities committed against the indigenous people (men, women and children alike) of the region (Palestine), but because it conflicts with their religious doctrine that states that "G-d's chosen people"™ should have a homeland only after their awaited messiah shows up.

Indeed, I remember a phone interview that DBS had with Rabbi Weiss from http://www.nkusa.org/. DBS tried desperately to make him say that they were outraged by the killings perpetrated in the name of Judaism....but the Rabbi didn't concede one single word of compassion for the victims. He kept reitering the argument that jews aren't allowed to have a homeland yet and for that reason the state of israel was an abomination. DBS too, after the interview , expressed his disappointement that he hadn't been able to extract one single word of compassion. The Rabbi stuck to his messianic religious argument , that was it and that was all.

I don't see any sign in those protests of the following kind : "Judaism is against Racism", "Stop Killing Palestinians in the name of Judaism", "Zionism is Racism",....etc.

Actually I wish to be proved wrong in my above observation.

That being said, there are some secular and liberal jews who are outraged at what israel is doing. I can testify of that (artists, musicians, intellectuals, regular jewish people.... ) (Noam Chomsky, Amy Goodman, Howard Zinn,....)
