Uk 'must Continue To Fight Wars'
Quote:Tony Blair has said his foreign policy is "controversial" but his approach of military intervention must continue after he has stepped down.

In a major speech, he said the "war on terror" may last a generation but to retreat would be a "catastrophe".

And Britain must be ready to fight wars as well as keep the peace.

He also admitted the army was doing more overseas than planned and there were "real problems" with accommodation for military families.

The prime minister said Britain and the world faced a "new and different" security challenge following 11 September 2001.

And Britain had to choose whether it wanted to be in the front line of the global fight against terrorism, or retreat to a peacekeeping role.

"My choice is for armed forces that are prepared to engage in this difficult, tough, challenging campaign, to be war fighters as well as peacekeepers," he told an audience of academics and military commanders in Plymouth.

He said he wanted to keep a strong American alliance and "for us as a nation to be as willing to fight terrorism and pay the cost of that fight wherever it may be".

But he acknowledged that Britain's armed forces were under strain fighting twin campaigns in Iraq and Afghanistan.

'Unnerved'

"It is true that operational commitments are at a higher level than originally planned. Service personnel are working harder and for longer than intended," he said.

And although he believed the condition of service accommodation had been "exaggerated," resentment over it was more "raw" among the military, because of what was being asked of them.

"The extraordinary job that servicemen do needs to be reflected in the quality of accommodation provided for them and their families, at home or abroad," said Mr Blair.

Mr Blair admitted public opinion was divided over Britain's military campaigns and "unnerved by the absence of victory" in its traditional form.

'More dangerous'

But he argued against political disengagement and said that Britain must be prepared to fight for its values and that defence spending would have to increase.

"Terrorism cannot be defeated by military means alone, but it can't be defeated without it," said Mr Blair.

But shadow foreign secretary William Hague said soldiers wanted to know what Mr Blair was going to do now, about their accommodation, allowances, medical care and equipment.

"After a decade in power, his legacy will be an overstretched army, navy and air force. It's too late to have a 'debate'," he said.

Left-wing MP John McDonnell, who intends to stand for the Labour leadership once Mr Blair resigns, said the prime minister had made "catastrophic foreign policy mistakes".

He dismissed the speech as "the delusional ramblings of a prime minister who has used British military forces to allow him to strut the world's stage".

Scottish National Party leader Alex Salmond said Mr Blair had made the world "a more dangerous place" and was "clearly trying to foist that legacy onto his successor".

Yep I think it comes down to

'You cannot fight fire with fire'

As long as you do not tell them the real reasons behind the jihadist movement ( what little of it isn't managed by the west ) and brand them as evil. People will go along with what ever plan you have against them ( or their oil ). I have heard many people say that we should just nuke the middle east, well they could soon have their way.

Apparently the media and anybody anti-war are to blame for the failing war machine, plus being part of an illegal war isn't making us a greater target either.. the man is off his head..

The whole thing stinks like one great big propaganda speech. Some subtle form of control over peoples minds.
If you look objectively at what he is saying, and also WHERE he is saying it - i.e. aboard some military warship, then it is spelling out the blatant message that "the war" is going to be part of our lives for a good while, and we just have to shut up and accept it.

This is spelled out in one of the quotes that have been highlighted above, using some kind of doublespeak, saying that "we cant win with military force, but we have to fight anyway": because of the ambiguity of this statement, it is clear that they have no real excuse they can give the naive public other than we have to fight this fight because if you dont, "something bad" will happen. (Of cource he cant give the actual truth that forces have to be in Iraq and Afghanistan as part of a larger, wider plan of world hegemony and goverment globalisation). The result of making such threating yet ambiguous statements is that it leaves people in a state of uncertainty, and because in this age we happen to live in a society of control-freak mentality, people feel scared of that uncertainty and of what they have no control over. The same thing applies to all the terror alerts we keep getting, both here and in the US.

What makes it even worse is that he seems to be trying devilish little psychological tactics upon the British public in saying the UK forces are suffering because of the anti-war sentiments felt by most of the public, and enhanced by the media. So he wishes us to be more supportive of this illegal war, so that, perhaps, the blame can be shared amongst the willing masses who pleaded for such intervention against the unseen foe of terrorism, rather than solely on those who actually decided to go there in the first place.

Bunch o cunts if you ask me!!!

Fight the Governments Fuck the Wars!
My war is with TPTB - NWO.......
Blair along with Bush happen to be the worlds top 'Puppet - Muppets'
the shit that comes out of their mouths is amusing and fairy tale
they are like those kids in school that always used to lie and say they met
michael jackson, mc hammer came round their house for dinner etc etc etc
It's all BullShit! and sometimes you can almost smell it in the air from their mouths.
This is exactly how Bush & Blair are, and it's not just them
the whole fucking institution and anything else that goes with 'politics'.

These people talk so much wars and fighting, yet they aren't man enough
to do all this fighting their selves, these are the type of people you would
easily lay out with one clean uppercut, the type of people that bullshit all day long to everyone
.... these happen to be our leaders ....
Weak Cowards, Liars, Bum Fuckers - I hope they all die the most grizzily deaths known to man and woman
because if they dont, then lets make sure they do at some point!

Wow blair does speak the truth sometimes:

BLAIR SAYS: "September 11 wasn't the incredible action of an isolated group. It was the product rather of a worldwide movement, with an ideology based on a misreading of Islam."

lmao

of course the UK will mimic what america does. america comes from european descent, does it not. of course we will send the ignorant americans into the meat grinder before we send the pampered brits, but the two countries are very much in love with each other.
