Hello
New to the forum. Not new to the site. Excellent resource space. Might as well absorb info when you want, as opposed to being spoon fed programming. TV sucks, but most docos can be listened to along with all the fab stuff. And the range of views also allows you to be a bit more critical in your thinking and not accept everything that is sated just cos it appeals to human curiosity or sceptisim.

Been reading thru statements on this thread and I came across this statement "The only thing to fear is fear itself", I think attributed to us pres Roosevelt. Have had this phrase in my mind over the past few weeks and it sounds to me like an abuse ov language, similar to "The war on terror", like you can have a war on an emotional response, they'd have to kill us all then (I wonder?). Let's have the war on resentment or the war on jealousy, for examples.

A LESSON ON FEAR AND DEALING WITH THREATS
Over the last three years any individual that has threatened me physical harm, i have immediately placed myself directly in front of them and offered to take any blow they care to put on me. My success rate has been 80%. the other 20% of events i had a few bruises & scratches. What it taught me about fear was incredible. Sure in every situation i was crapping my pants. I felt the fear, I had no fear of my fear anymore. In fact I realised I could not fear my fear, I could only supress by exhibiting a BEHAVIOUR sheepish or angry enough to appease my agressor. I experienced it in the moment, or rather i experienced myself and the process of fear in the moment. So the statement "the only thing to fear is fear itself" is a clever orwellian little trick, in my view. I prefer feeling the fear when it arises as it takes up a shorter time in my mindbiomechanism, and doing it anyway. Facing down bullies with lesser intelligence is always fun and the idea of violence is more effective in controlling humans than the actuality of violence.

Admittedly there are few guns in my society but my neighbourhhod is rough and it's where the guns make an appearance.

Emotionally Alex Jones is really quite simple shall we say and easy to dismiss, as his voice is not easy on the ear because of it. On TV his presence would be useful as it would provide an alienating effect in opposition to the flow of friendly, sweetened messages of fear and familiarity. Sadly no network would pick him up and if he did he would invariably turn into Peter Finch in Network. No maybe he has stuff about his pop that is easily mixed in challenging the rise of the United States of Authoritarianism. Maybe he needs to take a break. maybe he is not getting laid very often. Bill O'Rielly is no different in relating style really
different bias and information stream. Bill gets his Daddy stuff worked in in acting like Pop Ruperts favoured oldest son.
