Seven Blunders of the World
Found this on wikipedia...

Quote:The Seven Blunders of the World is a list that Mahatma Gandhi gave to his grandson Arun Gandhi, written on a piece of paper, on their final day together, not too long before his assassination.[1] The seven blunders are:
Wealth without work
Pleasure without conscience
Knowledge without character
Commerce without morality
Science without humanity
Worship without sacrifice
Politics without principle

This list grew from Gandhi's search for the roots of violence. He called these acts of passive violence. Preventing these is the best way to prevent oneself or one's society from reaching a point of violence.
To this list, Arun Gandhi added an eighth blunder, Rights without responsibilities

Interesting find Mike.
Some pretty astute conclusions from a good man.

“Today’s scientists have substituted mathematics for experiments, and they wander off through equation after
equation, and eventually build a structure which has no relation to reality. ” -Nikola Tesla

"When the power of love overcomes the love of power the world will know peace." -Jimi Hendrix

Fiat money is about confidence ...

... it's all about convincing people that those currency pieces of paper are actually worth something.B)

If you don't have confidence in your money ...

... then it's just another piece of paper. :o

Take out of your wallet or purse whatever paper currency you use ...

... isn't it amazing what people will do (or do to each other) for that piece of paper ?:D

Ognir (or anyone reading this thread) ...

... do you have experience with material barter ?

That is, the exchange of one material good or service for another ...

... bypassing the fiat currency ?

Gandhi is awesome... the one 'blunder' I am pondering on is worship without sacrifice... that could be interpreted in so many ways. I wonder what levels of sacrifice he meant? Perhaps I'm just not seeing the obvious? Maybe a sacrifice in faith to certain ideals/principles in worship. Faith followed by actions in accordance with?

And yes, monopoly fiat currency blows... like green paper in the wind
