Do not buy an ipod
Naaah come on...

I do acknowledge that itunes sucks hairy donkey balls - but iPods are fuckin sweet. The hardware is fun easy to use and slick - I dont have one but that it cause I am poor - and my MP3 player bought for 50$ (equivalent) is working nicely...

About the file transfer problem/hassle - there is a piece of software that is supposed to remedy this problem - iPOD Access for windows.

more info here - http://www.rlslog.net/ipod-access-for-wind...-keymaker-core/

Maybe it will help someone. Dont have an ipod available so havent tested yet.

I can vouch that the Sandisk Sansa e200 series is definitely a good alternative to the iPod Nano. They have models up to 8GB but also have a microSD slot so you can add on more space to them. Up to 4GB microSD cards can be easily found, with 8GB sizes coming in the near future. You can replace the firmware with RockBox, which adds a lot more functionality but has a simpler interface; or you can even dual-boot both the original firmware and RockBox. I picked up a 4GB model (e260) for a bit over $100 US. Oh, and did I mention it has an easy-to-replace internal battery? ;)

I would rather go with the sandisk, not because I want to suck balls
but because it makes sense, cheaper too - no restrictions .. fuck it lol
Come on ladies, your getting ripped off with your handbag Ipods haha
when I say cheaper - work it out - do the maths
the capacity is much bigger - probably lasts longer too .. ho ho ho !

Try a sandisk if you can afford it. I have literally beat the hell out of this thing. I run, work outside, walk, mow the grass, stick in my pocket, have dropped it too many times to count, it's a year old and still works. The video screen is scratched all to hell but it still works.

Nah I'm not going to let 270 dolloars go down the drain. I'm going to send it back but i will probably have to pay 80 dollars for them to fix it.
