A Question to all
Budget > ?
the lenses and the diameter of the scope are important, there are but a few companies producing decent scopes under 300$ don't buy one online , go to a store specialized in optics and binoculars, they'll know what they are talking about./ as far as i know this and this ; Meade and Galileo, are generally good brands for cheaper models. they have budget decent starter models, sturdy, nice lenses , easy to operate. There is also a Celestron Powerseeker, which is a full Newtonian scope with equatorial mount, getting used to working it may require some practice, and the thing is only about 100$ but the cheaper you go the less quality lesnses and stability you get , so the less you see in general, .. :D If Thine I that I spy with my own little I Doeth Offend thee ; Pluck It out. |

A Question to all
First do a little research to decide what you need. Maybe a little history of telescopes, this documentary was released a while back and might interesting?
http://www.nzbmovieseeker.com/1231285/NZB/...+the+Telescope/ In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal. As a reputed atheist, the reverential nature of his film was surprising, but Pasolini himself said &If you know that I am an unbeliever, then you know me better than I do myself. I may be an unbeliever, but I am an unbeliever who has a nostalgia for a belief.&

A Question to all
Order some free catalogs from the companies standvast and i recommended.
Read up. Browse...... how important to you is it? if you get a cheaper one.... will you just want a better one a year from now? Will you want to be able to hook a digital camera up to it? I'd say don't go cheap. It's JMO but I'd wait, save up, and buy something crazy! :) The Anthem |
