Quote:Quote:I wouldnt put it past some outraged Palestinians doing this to some Israelis, on account of what some of them have dealt with from the otherside, but this definately doesnt garner any sympathy for their cause, therefore it makes me think otherwise. No, not fake. It looked too real, imo. I meant perhaps orchestrated by their opposition to give more fuel to the fire that its only the Palestinians that are guilty of committing such atrocities. Perhaps, using some random thugs to perpetrate that on some Israelis as payback or what not, making sure to get it all on film, I cant know for sure. Then again it could very well have just been a really angry mob of palestinians doling out some "street justice" and maybe getting savagely carried away with it. No excuses for that either. But I feel that a mob like that has to have some form of organization or leadership whether official or not. Someone either had to tell all those people individually where those men were being held or they organized a mob and set them up. Its not excusable nor justified either way, imo. Even worse though, if they were played like a bunch of fools to carry out such a horrific act on the Israelis, in turn making them out to look like savage animals and harming their position of being innocent victims of Israeli attrocities. Edit: I think we all know Israel isnt innocent at all, and Im sure that video is used as propaganda, but if it is a real reaction of the palestinian people, that's very unfortunate. I've been sort of unavailable recently....:(

Watched it again. While the ones who mutilated the 2 guys were wrong for doing such, what leads a person to hate that deeply? Better question is I noticed that the film was shot in 2000, why so long in the coming out? At the time that was shot the world was on Isreal's side. I did notice that the man who grabbed the child seemed to be the only person there who saw an attack. The 22 year old, if he was snitching and costing lives, he got what he deserved.
Not making excuses, just thinking out loud. War is barbaric in its' very nature. It can bring out the best and worse as was seen in the footage. No matter if the 2 guys were sacrificed by Isreal or it was a mistake, it shouldn't have happened but you know, there are always extremists on both sides. At the same time if it were real I wouldn't blame Isreal for attacking where the guys were slaughtered from. I've been fortunate. Until now I have lived in a free country and even then I don't have to dodge bullets everyday. I didn't grow up with hate and being hated. It by Grace that I am not in either position and have not been, so who knows what I would do. I'd like to think I would rise above that, but thats it, who really knows. |

Might this be the reason for the release of the story after all this time?

Quote:Alright lets just say its all truth regarding the the soldier's deaths. Im sure Israel isn't as innocent as the video put it. I've heard lots of stories of crazy butchering Israelis driving taxis and whatnot, which I dont really know the validity of it. I think the recent organ theft outweighs this incident anyway. http://www.uruknet.info/?p=56577 fair point. |

Quote:Might this be the reason for the release of the story after all this time? Most definately. And your previous post makes a good point as well. This incident, if it wasnt orchestrated and manifested itself out of a natural emotional outrage, it does make one wonder. "What could possibly drive a bunch of regular people to do such a horrendous thing?" IMO, that type of question is easily answered if one were to just pay attention to the things that are brought on the Palestinians by the IDF on a daily basis. Lack of food and water, and all that rage being given a release, Im sure could get real ugly, real quick. The mob mentality would take over. Agreed. I would like to say I would never do that... but then it would be a lie because I do not know what I would do. What would it be to dodge bullets from a child, bury a child, parent, friend. I've seen research telling of rapes. Non fatal violence where they would beat a person and injure and or disfigure for live. Speaks louder words than death and been practiced since time began. Instills fear. I long watched MASH, still love it. Hawkeye once said that Hell is Hell and War is War, and of the two, War was worse. War doesn't discriminate.
