Bernard Pyron was a Ph.D in Clinical Psychology working in the field of experimental social and environmental psychology. While at the University of Wisconsin-Madison he met and worked with Dr. Carl Rogers , one of the fathers of the humanistic psychology movement.

Bernard was also part of the “New Culture”—the avante-garde bohemian art movement, working in pottery and ceramics—until he was “vomited out”. He also worked in the bureacracy of the state mental health system and around 1978 repented for being part of the erosion of the culture.

After gradually coming to an understanding of Christ and embracing the cross, Bernard authored the book “The Great Rebellion”(1985) , which surveyed the “popular culture of 1962-85 and its Christian versions.” Now, lamentably, out of print—that book detailed HOW the Christian church embraced self-help psychology, new age thought, and the culture of selfishness.
