Route Irish: Ireland and the 'War on Terror'; Being distributed primarily thru Torrents

A friendly admin has posted a torrent of my film 'Route Irish' on here. I just finished making this feature length documentary. It deals with the growth and collapse of a movement in Ireland to deny use of an Irish Airport to the US military and the CIAs Extraordinary Rendition program.

I decided some time ago after seeing 'Steal This Film' to distribute it primarily through Torrent networks as a way of ensuring that lack of a budget for distribution would not limit it's audience. It has international relevance considering the way in which European governments facilitated the war in Iraq and the extraordinary rendition program.

It compares a series of direct actions leading to the disarming of a warplane at shannon airport in 2003 to the more passive global protest of Feb 15th 2003. I hope people will be provoked by it and that they will in turn help to let others know about it.

There are some scenes in it which make it too hot to handle for TV here in Ireland - Who is that American demanding credentials from Irish Journalists? So this form of distribution is the best chance to have it widely seen.

It was initally released some 7 days ago now with a torrent from Indymedia Ireland. We estimate it's been downloaded 600-700 times at present and also know that it's made it's way into some darknets and that new torrent files have been made for other trackers like this one. This is already a success in our terms.

So download - have a look - spread the word about it if you enjoy it- help an independent producer out. Very happy to have it on CC. I'll be back here to talk to anyone who has feedback about it or further suggestions for speeding it on its way

Thank GOD the story of Ireland is reaching the global population. People seem to forget the US is occupying Ireland. Yeah, I consider this a military occupation.
